NPI TECHNICIAN
Hackettstown, New Jersey | 100% Onsite | EMI Filters Department

ROLE OVERVIEW
Astrodyne TDI is seeking a hands-on NPI Technician to support new product introduction activities within the EMI Filters Department. This role assembles power electronic systems and prototypes, assists with test-plan execution, troubleshoots developmental issues, performs failure analysis, and supports the successful transfer of approved products into production.
WHAT YOU WILL OWN
- Assemble power electronic systems, prototype EMI Filters, and Power Distribution Units according to engineering specifications.
- Assist with creating and implementing test plans for prototype EMI Filters and Power Distribution Units.
- Collaborate with engineers to identify and resolve developmental problems during first-time builds.
- Troubleshoot prototype products and perform failure analysis.
- Use oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, and other electronic test equipment to evaluate product performance.
- Document test results and technical findings in comprehensive reports.
- Support verification and validation activities throughout product development.
- Partner with production teams to transfer finalized units and processes into manufacturing.
- Help improve assembly methods, testing processes, product quality, and production readiness.
WHAT YOU BRING - REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or GED required.
- At least 2 years of experience working in electronics.
- Practical understanding of electrical engineering concepts.
- Proficiency using electronic test equipment, including oscilloscopes and digital multimeters.
- Hands-on mechanical experience and strong troubleshooting skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prepare comprehensive technical reports.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to work onsite in Hackettstown, New Jersey.
PREFERRED BACKGROUND
- Associate's degree in Electronic Technology or a related discipline.
- Experience supporting new product introduction or first-time builds.
- Familiarity with EMI Filters, power electronics, or Power Distribution Units.
- Knowledge of J-STD and IPC-A-610/620 workmanship standards.
- Experience performing root-cause investigations and failure analysis.
PAY RANGE
$20.00-$25.00 per hour. Final compensation will be based on relevant experience, qualifications, and business considerations.
