Description
Part of SJ Group, Prostruct is a specialist consultancy for Protective Technology and Civil & Structural Engineering. Established in 2012, we have grown to be one of Singapore’s leading blast consulting firms. We offer integrated and customised solutions for protecting buildings and infrastructure against blast and other effects, therefore designing for the safe storage across multiple industries.
Based in our SJ Campus at 38 Cleantech Loop, we are looking an Assistant Manager for Bids and Business Development to support the growth and effective delivery of our Prostruct security and engineering consultancy.
The role develops opportunities across security, protective design, infrastructure, buildings, and mission-critical facilities; coordinates technical proposals and client engagement; and supports project mobilisation, commercial administration, and business operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Market and opportunity development: Research public- and private-sector opportunities in security consultancy, protective design and engineering for infrastructure, buildings, data centres, and other mission-critical facilities; identify decision-makers and maintain a qualified pipeline.
• Client and stakeholder engagement: Follow-ups with developers, asset owners, government agencies, architects, engineers, contractors, and strategic partners.
• Proposals and tenders: Manage expressions of interest, prequalifications, quotations, fee proposals, and tender submissions; coordinate technical inputs, project references, CVs, compliance schedules, approvals, and deadlines.
• Service positioning: Support the preparation of marketing materials and case studies for services such as security risk assessment, security-by-design, blast and protective security engineering, threat and vulnerability assessment, security systems planning, and multidisciplinary engineering consultancy.
• Commercial administration: Assist with fee build-ups, subconsultant quotations, contractual documentation, revenue forecasting, and work-in-progress monitoring.
• Project mobilisation and operations: Project setup, resource schedules, deliverable registers, document control, subconsultants, and internal kick-off activities.
• Resource and delivery support: Work with technical leads and project managers to monitor workload, programme, deliverables, risks, changes, and actions, escalating issues where necessary.
• Business systems and reporting: Maintain accurate customer relationship management, tender, project, and commercial records; prepare reports on pipeline, order intake, hit rate, revenue, utilisation, project status, and outstanding actions.
• Governance and confidentiality: Support compliance with company procedures, client security requirements, tender conditions, contractual obligations, quality management processes,
and the secure handling of sensitive project information.
• Process improvement: Develop templates, trackers, standard operating procedures, and knowledge resources that improve proposal quality, project administration, collaboration, and operational efficiency.
Job Requirements:
• Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, Security Management, Project Management, or a related discipline.
• Two to four years of relevant experience in business development, bid coordination, consultancy operations, project administration, or professional services; experience in an engineering, construction, infrastructure, built-environment, or security consultancy is preferred.
• Working understanding of the consultancy business cycle, including lead identification, prequalification, proposal development, appointment, project mobilisation, delivery, invoicing, and close-out.
• Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary technical submissions, interpret tender requirements, manage compliance schedules, and obtain timely inputs from security specialists, engineers, and project teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare accurate proposals, capability statements, presentations, correspondence, reports, and meeting records.
• Commercial awareness and confidence working with consultancy fees, budgets, contracts, subconsultant costs, variations, invoices, revenue forecasts, and performance data.
