JB097 - Nanny/Family Assistant - Washington, DC

Overview

A warm Georgetown family is seeking an experienced, dependable full-time Nanny for their 2 young boys (soon to be 4 and 2). This is a long-term role for someone who will become a consistent, trusted presence in the boys' lives and grow with the family. Daily care includes playgroup, preschool pickup, naptime, play dates and light household help.

 

The schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 6:30pm, with the option for additional hours. The family also needs flexibility for occasional evenings, and prefers candidates with availability on some weekends, occasional overnights, and potentially travel.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive, engaging, and consistent care for 2 active young boys
• Handle preschool pickup and stay with the younger son throughout playgroup, walking to and from both
• Manage nap time and the afternoon routine, including snacks, play, and outings
• Support the boys' development, routines, and daily structure as they grow
• Assist with children's laundry, light family meal preparation, tidying, and general household organization
• Work alongside the family's existing housekeeping help, who will continue to handle deeper cleaning
• Travel with the family domestically and internationally when needed, including pack and unpack and travel day care
• Remain flexible for occasional evenings, weekends, and overnights

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of professional nanny experience in a private home
• Calm, warm, patient, and dependable personality
• Strong communication skills and a professional approach to working with parents
• Comfortable managing light household tasks alongside childcare
• Open to a nanny and household manager arrangement
• Long term employment history preferred

Requirements

• Full legal eligibility to work in the United States
• Strong verifiable references from comparable private household roles
• CPR certified
• Flexible for occasional evenings, weekends, overnights, and travel
• Valid passport preferred
• Swimming skills are a plus
• Valid Driver’s License 

Salary and Benefits

• $40 to $45 per hour based on experience
