From printed timetables and interchange information to website content, mobile applications and digital displays, you will help ensure passengers have access to accurate and timely travel information whenever they need it.

As a Service Information Products Officer, you will contribute directly to improving the customer experience by developing and maintaining high-quality information products that support public transport users across the region.

Please note interviews will be held in person and will be a single stage interview process.

About the role

As a Service Information Products Officer, you will be responsible for designing, producing and maintaining customer information products across print, digital and electronic channels.

You will ensure that service information is accurate, accessible and delivered on time to support service changes, operational requirements and customer needs. This includes producing and updating timetables, maps, interchange information, website content, mobile application content and digital display information.

The role involves carrying out quality assurance checks on customer-facing materials, ensuring information is consistent, easy to understand and aligned with organisational branding and accessibility standards. You will work closely with colleagues, transport operators and external partners to coordinate updates and manage the distribution of information products.

You will also use customer feedback, performance data and service information to identify opportunities for improvement, helping to enhance customer satisfaction and support SYMCA's wider transport objectives. In addition, you will contribute to the maintenance of GIS data and mapping products, supporting the accurate presentation of public transport information across the network.

You are a creative and detail-oriented professional with experience producing customer-facing information and communications materials. You enjoy combining design skills with accuracy and problem-solving to help people access the information they need.

You will bring:
  • Experience creating and producing customer-facing information materials.
  • Strong graphic design, desktop publishing or layout skills.
  • Experience using software such as Adobe Illustrator, InDesign or similar design tools.
  • The ability to interpret complex timetable, route and map-based information accurately.
  • Excellent attention to detail and proofreading skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A customer-focused approach with an understanding of accessibility and inclusive communication.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
You will be proactive, organised and committed to delivering high-quality information products that improve the customer experience. Most importantly, you will be motivated by helping people navigate South Yorkshire's public transport network with confidence and ease.
