About the Role 

We're looking for a Senior Staff Technical Program Manager to join Equinix's Digital and Innovation Office. This is a senior individual contributor role for an experienced program manager who has spent years running complex, multi-team programs and knows how to get things done across organizational boundaries — with limited oversight. 

You'll lead complex, high-priority, cross-functional programs end to end, work across technical and business teams, and help shape how program management is practiced across DIO. You will also mentor other junior project and program managers within the PMO. Critically, we're looking for someone who is actively curious about how AI tools can make program management faster, more thorough, and more scalable — and who can put that curiosity to practical use. 

 

What You'll Do 

Project, Program, & Portfolio Execution  

• Own, shape, and drive complex, cross-functional technology programs through the full technology development lifecycle (scope, schedule, change, risk, procurement, vendor, and closure) 

• Assess and recommend the right delivery approach (Agile, Waterfall, hybrid, SAFe) based on program needs 

• Manage multiple workstreams, risks and inter-dependencies, budgets, and timelines simultaneously – in collaboration with other program/ portfolio managers, if applicable 

• Proactively identify and resolve blockers at the program level, including issues that cut across teams or organizations 

• Lead effort estimation, resource planning, and capacity alignment with senior stakeholders 

• Conduct structured retrospectives and translate learnings into lasting process improvements 

Stakeholder Management 

• Build working relationships with senior leaders, directors, and VP-level stakeholders across technical and business functions ensuring alignment and business readiness 

• Define and publish communication plans, facilitate decision making and resolve cross-team conflicts before they become program risks 

• Lead or support steering committees, program reviews, and executive briefings 

• Leverage concise, sharp, and executive-ready content to convey current state of affairs and drive required outcomes 

 

Governance & Reporting  

• Effectively and proactively monitor and report program progress and health, milestones, risks and mitigation, scope changes, resource needs and decisions 

• Create and use JIRA or other tool-based dashboards to visualize program related data 

• Ensure compliance with internal controls, standards, and documentation practices  

• Support vendor management and third-party integrations, where applicable  

• Track and report financial data, program metrics, and operational effectiveness  

 

Agile Delivery & Facilitation  

• Use your strong command over multiple PM methodologies (Agile, Scrum, SAFe, Waterfall, Kanban) to determine the best approach for a given program and apply them correctly 

• Lead 3-5 agile teams as an RTE (release train engineer) 

• Coach teams on Agile best practices and metrics (velocity, burndown, backlog health,) using Jira/Confluence  

• Facilitate scrum of scrums and structure work delivery across Agile Release Trains (ARTs) through ART ceremonies (PI Planning, ART Sync, PO Sync, System Demo)  

• Use data analysis and modelling to uncover insights and support decision-making  

 

AI Enablement and PM Innovation 

• Actively use AI tools to accelerate program work — status reporting, risk synthesis, documentation, meeting prep, and more 

• Able to evaluate practical opportunities and apply lightweight AI-powered solutions to day to day program management workflows without requiring engineering support 

• Help scale program management bandwidth by mentoring and enabling other PMs and teams to leverage AI effectively 

• Stay current on relevant AI and other tooling improvements and share what's working with the broader TPM community 

• Define and document PM standards, templates, and processes that others can use and build on 

 

Experience 

• 12+ years of technical program or project management experience with a demonstrated track record running large, complex programs with multiple teams and external dependencies 

• Previous data center experience highly preferred 

• Specific exposure to following in an enterprise environment is highly desirable 

• Engineering excellence domains: SRE, developer experience, building and scaling engineering platforms, DevSecOps, software quality management practices 

• Data center operations domains: Energy and sustainability, design and construction, digital twins, infrastructure monitoring, capacity planning 

• Skilled at navigating ambiguity and driving clarity in complex, matrixed environments 

• Excellent communicator (both written and verbal) and collaborator with a practical, outcomes-driven mindset that appeals to both technical and non-technical audiences 

• Practical, hands-on experience with tools such as Miro, Jira, Confluence, MS 365 suite, Smartsheet, or equivalent 
   

Education and Certifications 

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in a STEM, Computer science, other technical or related fields 

• One or more relevant certifications required: PMP, PgMP, PMI-ACP, CSM, SAFe RTE, SAFe Program Consultant, or equivalent 

• Additional certifications in AI/ML fundamentals or digital transformation are a plus 
  

The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:

United States - Dallas Infomart Office DAI : 118,000 - 176,000 USD / Annual

Canada - TR1 Toronto : 112,000 - 162,000 CAD / Annual

Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location.The pay range shown is based on our compensation structure in place at the time of posting and may be updated periodically based on business needs. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.

The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
