Description
- Operate a roll-off truck in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.
- Provide roll off delivery and removal services to customers on assigned route(s).
- Safely load, secure, transport, and unload roll off boxes.
- Responsible for counting and recording quantities and styles of product delivered and picked up to ensure accurate paperwork for customer transactions.
- Conduct pre-trip/post trip inspections and complete logs.
- Maintain and update drivers log sheets.
- Professional interaction with internal and external customers.
- Identifies need for repairs and/or maintenance to vehicles and is accountable for ensuring the maintenance or repairs are accomplished with a minimum of disruption to the operation.
- Operates a variety of equipment and regularly interfaces with both internal and external customers.
- Efficiently transport, unload and distribute product to customer locations.
- Professional interface with customers; build and maintain relationships.
- Operate and maintain records in accordance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR), Department of Transportation (DOT) and company policies as required.
- Ability to drive truck with a manual transmission.
- General knowledge of mechanics of trucks.
- Other related duties as assigned by Fleet Manager.

- High school diploma or equivalent or a combination of experience & technical training.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- Clean or acceptable driving record.
- Experience operating roll-off trucks or similar heavy commercial vehicles preferred.
- Ability to safely operate hydraulic roll-off systems and related equipment.
- Familiarity with DOT rules and safe driving practices.
- Must have a valid DOT medical card or able to obtain prior to hire.
- Must not have any DUI’s within the last 5 years or 2 in the last 10 years.
- Must not have any license suspensions within the last 2 years.
- No more than 3 moving violations within the last 2 years.
- Strong verbal communication skills; will be in contact with internal dispatch personnel as well as customer representatives.
- Able to count and perform basic math.
- Must be able to satisfy all DOT QA file requirements and paperwork.
- Must have ability to wear/use approved applicable safety equipment, as needed.
- Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50–75 pounds occasionally.
- Climb in and out of truck cabs and onto equipment multiple times per day.
- Secure loads using chains, binders, tarps, and straps requiring bending, reaching, and pulling.
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and crouch for extended periods.
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow.
- Perform repetitive hand and arm movements while operating controls and securing loads.
- Maintain focus and alertness while operating heavy equipment for long periods.
- Exposure to elements and / or non-climate-controlled environment where temperature and weather extremes (heat, cold, rain) may be encountered.
- Work may take place in an industrial environment, with noise, dust and fumes.
- Noise level in the work environment is moderate; hearing protection is always provided to employees by the company.
- Monday through Friday with a 40+ hour work week. Saturdays and overtime will be required to facilitate business and production needs.
