Job Description:

The Electrical Product Design Engineer (Wiring and Schematics) will join the R+D+i team to translate the conceptual architecture of the inverters and electrical cabinets into the final technical documentation required for manufacturing. Their primary mission is to design, size, and lay out the internal wiring of the equipment, as well as to ensure that the interconnection of all power and control modules is safe, efficient, and reproducible on the assembly line, while complying with technical specifications and international standards throughout the entire product development cycle.

Mission and Main Objective

•    Develop detailed engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams for the high-power inverter.

•    Define the technical specifications for interconnections, cable harnesses, connectors, and internal equipment wiring.

•    Ensure that the wiring design optimizes space, minimizes electromagnetic interference (EMI), and facilitates the assembly process during production.

Main Responsibilities

•    Preparation of electrical schematics: Design detailed electrical diagrams for power, control, signal, grounding, and protection systems using advanced computer-aided engineering (CAE) software.

•    Wiring design and sizing: Calculate and select the appropriate conductor cross-sections, insulation types, terminals, conduits, and connectors to withstand high currents, voltages, and temperature gradients.

•    Technical routing: Define the optimal cable routing within the inverter chassis, in close collaboration with the mechanical engineer, physically separating power cables from signal cables to prevent electrical noise.

•    Preparation of production documentation: Prepare cable lists (from-to lists), connection diagrams, crimping tables, terminal block diagrams, and detailed electrical bills of materials (BOMs).

•      Standardization and Regulations: Ensure that all wiring and connections strictly comply with international standards for electrical safety, insulation clearances (creepage distance and clearance distance), and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).

Profile Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, with a specialization in Industrial Electronics.

Fluency in Spanish and English, both written and spoken, is required.

Experience: More than 8 years of experience creating electrical schematics and designing industrial wiring, preferably in power electronics, complex control cabinets, or capital equipment.

Technical Skills:

o            Expert proficiency in advanced electrical design software such as EPLAN Electric P8.

o    Experience with 3D cable routing modules in mechanical environments (EPLAN Pro Panel, SolidWorks Electrical 3D, or Inventor Routed Systems) is a plus.

o    Solid knowledge of selecting industrial interconnection components.

o    Familiarity with industrial wiring standards and conductor marking (IEC or UL standards).

Soft Skills: Extreme attention to detail in technical documentation, excellent spatial awareness for routing, and constant interaction with mechanical design and production teams.
