What You Will Do

The Qt Software Engineer will play a critical role in developing and enhancing Pratt & Whitney’s Data Configuration System (DCS), a Qt/C++ desktop application that unifies engine test workflows across multi-disciplinary teams. This role is focused on building intuitive user interfaces, robust automation features, and scalable architectures to streamline processes and reduce errors within the engine test lifecycle.

• Develop and enhance the DCS application to support multi-user editing, concurrency control, and integration with a unified database.
• Design intuitive user interfaces that simplify complex workflows and prevent errors.
• Implement forward/backward traceability, rule-based diagnostics, and automated configuration of data systems.
• Create workflow automation features for approvals, notifications, and other business processes.
• Integrate software with external systems and enterprise tools to ensure seamless functionality.
• Collaborate closely with customers, planners, and cross-functional teams to translate test requirements into standardized digital configurations.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by designing scalable architectures and enabling reusability across engine series.
• Strengthen reliability, safety, and efficiency within the engine test lifecycle.
• Travel up to 10%.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Bachelor degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
• 5 years of engineering experience or an Advanced degree with 3 years of engineering experience
• Experience in C++ programming.
• Experience developing desktop applications using Qt.
• U.S. Citizen - The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer

• Experience developing automation features for business processes.
• Experience designing diagnostic or validation capabilities for complex configurations.
• Experience supporting cross-functional customer engagement in Agile development environments.

• Experience working with unified or centralized data architectures for scaleable applications.
• Experience designing user interfaces to support complex workflows.
• Experience integrating software with external systems or enterprise tools.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
