Maximizes every opportunity to increase membership, refer consumer and real estate loans as well as promote e-services to the membership in the branch.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Processes all member transaction requests in a professional, friendly manner with a strong emphasis on accuracy.
- Follows policies and procedures applicable to the Teller position to maintain compliance with government and credit union regulations, including, but limited to the Bank Secrecy Act.
- Responsible for the daily opening and closing of their assigned cash box and PC workstation, including but not limited to maintaining cash limits with credit union guidelines, maintain proper securing all negotiable instruments (including cash), ensuring that their assigned PC is locked whenever out of their immediate control, balancing their physical cash to the core operating system at the end of the workday, and notifying a supervisor of any and all discrepancies.
- Maintain cash differences within Credit Union guidelines.
- Works closely with Tellers and MSR’s as both a trainer and Mentor including new hires.
- Provides an unsurpassed level of member service, meeting and exceeding their expectations with every interaction.
- Open new accounts and, through the interview process, cross sell additional products to best benefit the member needs and meet branch goals.
- Process Consumer and Home Equity loan requests. Gather documents needed for processing and decision.
- Take, process and disburse Consumer and Home Equity loans.
- Refer appropriate members to the First New York Retirement and Investment Services Program.
- Responsible for having a thorough knowledge of all products and services offered by the credit union, including but not limited to shares, consumer loans, and e-services.
- Become a product and service expert.
- Efficiently provides servicing for all accounts and loans issues or concerns. Ensures that requests are processed correctly and completed in a timely fashion.
- Follows policies and procedures applicable to the MSR position to maintain compliance with government and credit union regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act.
- Participates in the Sales Incentive Program.
- Maintains Notary Public designation (within the first year of employment)
- Provides quotes on consumer loan payoffs.
- Handles routine file maintenance on computer system.
- Performs other duties as may be assigned.
- Position requires in office presence for Member facing interactions.
Requirements
- Must possess a High School Diploma, GED or High School Equivalent.
- Previous credit union/bank branch experience.
- Thorough knowledge of credit union products and services.
- Must be able to respect confidential information.
- Adept at utilizing most current technology and thorough knowledge of core operation system.
- General knowledge of credit union policies and procedures.
- Should have excellent communication skills and maintain a positive attitude with members and a cooperative attitude with other team members.
Work Schedule
Varied: Mon. – Fri. 8:00am – 6:00pm Sat. 9:00am – 1:00pm
