Maintenance Specialist
Schedule: Full Time, Days
Location: SPHP Warehouse
The Maintenance Specialist serves a vital role within the Facilities Department by coordinating maintenance operations, supporting regulatory compliance initiatives, and managing critical facility and safety systems. This position functions as a Facilities Coordinator, providing operational and administrative support beyond traditional clerical responsibilities. Responsibilities include coordinating departmental projects and work assignments, monitoring preventive maintenance programs, managing campus safety devices, maintaining compliance documentation, and supporting departmental training and safety initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in coordinating departmental job assignments, maintenance requests, and special projects.
- Manage critical campus safety systems, including nurse call systems, door access and badge systems, pagers, pendants, and other communication devices.
- Facilitate the timely assignment and follow-up of urgent work orders.
- Prepare and distribute daily nurse call reports to support monitoring of response times and operational performance.
- Monitor, schedule, and track preventive maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability and regulatory compliance.
- Develop Safety Committee agendas, record meeting minutes, and maintain committee documentation.
- Coordinate room setups and scheduling for meetings, training sessions, and special events within the Community Center and other campus locations.
- Order maintenance supplies, equipment, and replacement parts while maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Assist with orientation and onboarding of new employees, including safety education and fire drill training.
- Maintain fire drill logs and related documentation for all campus buildings to support Department of Health (DOH) compliance.
- Organize and maintain records of inspections, testing, permits, certifications, and other compliance-related documentation.
- Provide administrative and operational support to the Facilities Department as needed.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSE) required.
- Two (2) years of related work experience may be considered in lieu of an HSE.
- Two (2) to three (3) years of experience in a similar facility, maintenance, operations, or administrative support role preferred.
- Experience working in a healthcare, long-term care, or regulated environment preferred.

Pay Range:
$24.79-$33.40
Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
