Description

Description

CityTeam is a Christian non-profit dedicated to supporting communities by meeting immediate needs and enabling lasting solutions for those struggling with poverty, homelessness, and addiction. Being part of CityTeam is not just a career but a calling. Whether we’re working on the front-lines in Programs or working behind the scenes in Support Services, we feel privileged to use our education, experience, and gifts to love people and bring glory to God.

Description - Church Engagement:

The Church Engagement role represents approximately half of this full-time position and is focused on expanding CityTeam Portland’s relationships with churches throughout the Portland metro area. This role will build meaningful partnerships that connect churches to our work addressing homelessness, addiction, recovery, and housing, while sharing the love of God with those we serve. Responsibilities include creating opportunities for CityTeam staff, residents, and graduates to share their stories and testimonies with congregations, recruiting volunteers, and inviting churches to engage through service, financial support, and ongoing partnership. The ideal candidate is outgoing, relational, passionate about meeting new people, and excited to share the life-changing work God is doing through CityTeam.

Description - Learning Center:

The Learning Center Coordinator will wear many hats, including teacher, facilitator, mentor, guidance counselor, and case manager. The Learning Center Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and overseeing Learning Center plans and procedures, conducting assessments, instructing clients, and assisting with other essential functions of the Residential and Transitional Housing Programs. No two days are ever the same, so we are looking for someone who can pivot quickly and handle any situation with grace in a Christ-like manner. Our ideal candidate will have a servant’s heart and have the expertise to ensure our Learning Center is best in class.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Develop and maintain a pipeline of current and prospective church partners throughout the Portland metro area, including identifying new churches, scheduling meetings and visits, maintaining accurate contact records, and providing consistent follow-up.
  2. Regular local travel is required; a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel throughout the Portland metro area are essential.
  3. Work directly with the Executive Director to establish and achieve annual church engagement goals, including new church partnerships, volunteer recruitment, speaking opportunities, and fundraising targets. Track activity and outcomes and provide regular updates on progress toward established goals.
  4. Coordinate volunteer opportunities and events, manage volunteer calendars, and host volunteer groups.
  5. Manage timely and accurate reporting of GIK and tracked statistics.
  6. Support Operations Manager with coordinating projects and events as needed.
  7. Hold students accountable for appropriate behavior and model Christ-like behavior.
  8. Assist with the intake process, including screenings and assessments, setting up files, orienting new clients, and making referrals.
  9. Create Individualized Learning Plans for clients and provide instruction and materials best suited to meet each client’s needs based on their Individualized Learning Plan.
  10. Use appropriate teaching styles and methods to accommodate working with individuals and small or large groups.
  11. Maintain materials as needed for class use.
  12. Maintain all related client files and paperwork.
  13. Recruit and cultivate relationships with local businesses to generate employment and internship opportunities for clients.
  14. Assist each client with exit plan details and documents related to employment, housing, budgeting, etc.
  15. Provide leadership and administrative oversight to the weekly Working Man’s Meeting.
  16. Serve as the staff person responsible for accountability related to DBS forms and participation.
  17. Serve as a case manager for up to 5 clients.
  18. Facilitate classes, as needed.
  19. Attend all pertinent meetings, including but not limited to weekly staff and case manager meetings.
  20. Advocate on behalf of CityTeam to your circles of influence.
