[What the role is]
The officer will develop and implement communication strategies to increase public’s awareness of HSA’s policies, programmes and initiatives, and to enhance HSA’s profile, particularly in health products regulation. The officer will also be involved in research and sensing, and public education projects. Other responsibilities will include: review anddissemination of daily media reports, content creation and planning, and data analysis.
[What you will be working on]
The officer will oversee and handle the following key areas of work:
1. Media, issue and crisis management
- Develop and implement communication strategies to increase awareness of HSA’s policies, programmes and initiatives particularly on health products regulation, and to enhance HSA’s profile
- Develop and implement complementary marketing and digital/online communications strategies
- Handle media and publicity requests
- Draft and disseminate media releases
- Analyse media reports
- Ensure accurate representation of HSA in other agencies’ media and social media content
- Assist with crisis communications
- Provide strategic counsel to senior management on public relations opportunities, reputation management and potential communications risks
2. Projects involving research and sensing, consumer education and stakeholder engagement
- Research and sensing - Gather data, sentiments and behaviours to guide and formulate communications strategies
- Consumer education - Work closely with key stakeholders to create and shape content and strategies for consumer education
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including media representatives, industry partners, government agencies, and internal departments to facilitate effective communication channels
3. Media monitoring and recording
- Review and disseminate daily media monitoring reports
- Record news articles in media repository
- Extract and compile media figures as required for analysis
[What we are looking for]
The officer should possess 4 to 10 years’ experience in Corporate Communications or Public Relations, along with the following competencies:
Core Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in crafting media releases and social media content
- Effective stakeholder management capabilities, with ability to engage across all organisational levels, including C-suite executives and external partners
- Strong project management skills with ability to multi task to deliver high-quality outcomes under tight deadlines
- Analytical skills for data interpretation and report production
The officer should also be self-directed and results-oriented, capable of working autonomously with minimal oversight. Prior experience in healthcare sector communications and/or government agency environments, or Tertiary degree in mass communications or social media, would be advantageous.
