Position Summary
Through growth of the business we have an exciting opportunity for an SSG team member to join the Production Test Facility (PTF) in Derby, within the Civil Aerospace Assembly, Test and Controls organisation. SSG’s provide essential lineside support to the engine build and test functions and may be deployed to a variety of areas within the facility, but this particular role will be aligned to the Large Engines tooling team who ensure all tooling used for building our products are in the right place at the right time in the right condition.
What you will be doing:
As an SSG within the tooling team, you will be working with the Infrastructure and Tooling Manager on a variety of daily duties both alone and as part of a small team. This may include:
Movement and storage of engine build tooling and lifting equipment of all sizes around the facility using Mechanical Handling Equipment (MHE) such as forklift trucks, tow trucks and powered pallet trucks
Basic maintenance and inspection of tooling
Keeping the tool storage facilities, workshops and yard areas to a safe standard
Basic computer tasks including the use of Microsoft Excel and other software packages

You will have a professional and flexible “can do” attitude, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues and supervision
Experience of working in a precision engineering or aerospace industry would be beneficial, with an appreciation for safety critical products
Experience using counterbalance forklift trucks would be beneficial, but training will be provided
You will hold a full UK driving licence
