Mission

Rooted in Catholic faith and community since 1941, we are a Christ-centered high school serving the Fox Valley area and forming compassionate, service-driven leaders. In partnership with families, we educate the whole person—mind, body, and soul—while building lifelong connections.

Vision

To form the next generation of joyful servant leaders, scholars, and saints who enrich the world with faith, reason, and justice rooted in the mission of Jesus Christ.

Core Values

Worship: We embrace every task, assignment, and competition as an opportunity to worship God through our hard work.

Achievement: We set high goals and expectations, embrace challenges, and work with a growth mindset.

Virtue: We exemplify virtues including honesty, compassion, generosity, patience, and fortitude, while recognizing those who serve as role models in virtue.

Evangelization: We engage in outreach and service opportunities to lead others through action to the way of salvation through Christ Jesus.

JOB SUMMARY

The Part-Time Physical Education and Health Teacher works collaboratively with school leadership, faculty, counselors, athletic staff, and families to support the formation of St. Edward Central Catholic High School students in alignment with the school’s mission, the National Standards and Benchmarks for Effective Catholic Elementary and Secondary Schools, and the school’s integral student outcomes.

The Physical Education and Health Teacher is responsible for providing engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction for boys and girls in grades 9–12. The teacher will help students develop the knowledge, skills, habits, and attitudes necessary to support lifelong physical fitness, personal wellness, responsible decision-making, and respect for the dignity of every person.

The teacher will create a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment that encourages students of varying abilities and experience levels to participate, grow, and achieve. Instruction should promote physical fitness, teamwork, sportsmanship, cooperation, healthy relationships, nutrition, mental and emotional wellness, personal safety, and responsible health choices.

The Physical Education and Health Teacher will establish clear expectations for student conduct and participation while providing appropriate support and accommodations. The teacher will assess student learning, communicate student progress, maintain accurate records, and collaborate with colleagues to address student needs.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a willingness to promote Catholic ideals and culture and preferably have experience working with high school students in a Catholic, private, or public school setting. The candidate should possess strong classroom-management skills, an understanding of adolescent development, and a commitment to supporting the formation of the whole person—mind, body, and soul.
