Description
AVEVA is creating software trusted by over 90% of leading industrial companies.
Job Title: R&D Senior Member of Technical Staff, Product Development
Location: Bangalore
Employment Type: Regular, full-time, hybrid work arrrangement
The job
At AVEVA, we are looking for experienced full-stack engineer, responsible for designing, building, and end-to-end delivery of medium-to-high complexity backlog items, translates process-data use cases into reliable product behaviour, and ensures changes are production-safe through robust automated and scenario-based validation for our PI Visualization team.
Key responsibilities
Make high-impact technical decisions and trade-offs across scalability, reliability, performance, maintainability, and business needs.
Design, develop, test, debug, and maintain software across new features and existing codebases (including unfamiliar areas with minimal guidance).
Deliver production-quality software predictably—accurate estimates, on-time execution, and CI/CD-aligned delivery meeting AVEVA standards.
Drive technical alignment across teams—proactively coordinate dependencies, sequencing, and integration with architecture, product owners, and stakeholders.
Raise engineering quality and security through strong PR/design reviews, standards adherence, and actionable feedback.
Contribute to technical strategy and future direction via research/spikes and informing longer-term technology decisions.
Mentor and unblock others—coach junior engineers, guide peers, and resolve roadblocks efficiently by engaging the right collaborators.
Essential requirements
Bachelor’s/master’s in computer science/engineering (or equivalent practical experience).
7+ years of hands-on full-stack experience building enterprise web applications (C#/.NET + JavaScript/UI +jQuery).
Strong experience building APIs using C#, Web API, and REST patterns.
Demonstrated end-to-end ownership delivering medium-to-high complexity features (design → build → test → release/support).
Strong engineering fundamentals: clean, maintainable architecture, and well-tested code.
Strong debugging/problem-solving across UI, API, and data layers.
Working knowledge of quality practices (unit/integration/UI tests, code reviews, regression discipline).
Practical experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices (pipelines, release basics, environment awareness).
Desired skills and competencies
Experience building high-performance enterprise UIs—large datasets, real-time updates, responsive interactions, and measurable improvements in page/load/render performance.
Strong front-end architecture skills—modular design, state management, reusable components, and maintainable patterns across a growing codebase.
Proven quality-first UI/API delivery—test strategy (unit/integration/UI automation), regression control, and effective code reviews that raise code quality and reduce defects.
Ability to lead a medium-sized initiative end to end independently —break down work, estimate, coordinate dependencies, and drive delivery outcomes across UI + API.
Familiarity with secure-by-design in web apps—auth flows, secure client-side patterns, dependency hygiene, and vulnerability remediation basics.
Experience mentoring junior engineers and contributing to backlog refinement/estimation.
Preferred skills
Experience developing industrial/process data visualization products (e.g., historian/SCADA-style platforms).
Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) and responsible usage in engineering workflows.
Knowledge of the PI System domain: PI Vision, PI AF, PI Data Archive (data modelling, time-series concepts, typical user workflows).
