Senior Finance Manager, M&C Poland
As Senior Finance Manager, you will provide strategic financial leadership and business partnership to support the delivery of commercial and financial objectives in Poland. You will drive business performance, strengthen financial governance and compliance, lead and develop finance teams, and collaborate across the organization to create sustainable value. The role also plays a key part in transformation initiatives, demonstrating digital innovation and AI-enabled insights to support decision-making and business growth.
In this role you will:
- Be a trusted advisor to the Downstream M&C Europe Business SVP / VP in support of business delivery (commercial, accounting, investment), providing finance expertise into business decision-making across strategic and operational imperatives.
- Drive business performance in both economic and strategic terms, including leading interventions where needed to ensure strategic objectives and financial outcomes are met.
- Support the maintenance of a robust control environment and the identification and resolution of gaps.
- Drive strategic direction for finance in the sub-business and influence key stakeholders with agreement to that direction.
- Build capability, coach a diverse group of people and drive high performance through strong leadership.
- Inspire and motivate people to deliver results and develop future talent, demonstrating experience in leading geographically dispersed teams.
- Drive a one-team culture across key Finance teams and the Business, building collaborative relationships across the organization.
- Cut through key issues and challenges and rapidly resolve them with the appropriate level of agreement and support from Finance and Business teams.
- Promote a continuous improvement culture by simplifying activities, embracing digital automation, and using new digital skills to enable faster, more focused decision making.
What You will need to be successful:
- Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks, governance requirements, IFRS, statutory accounting (Polish GAAP), and experience in tax accounting. ACCA or CIMA qualifications are an advantage.
- Strong leadership skills, grounded in emotional intelligence, with the ability to build capability, coach diverse teams, and drive high performance.
- Degree in Business, Finance, or a related field, a minimum of 8 years' experience in commercial and/or control finance roles, and excellent communication skills with a good command of written and spoken English and fluency in Polish
- Strategic vision and business leadership, with the ability to see the big picture, anticipate financial implications, and build solutions that support business objectives.
- Strong commercial and business sense, with deep expertise in financial management, performance management, and business partnering.
- Proven track record to influence senior collaborators and build strategic direction across a complex business environment.
- Extensive experience leading change and transformation initiatives, including process simplification, continuous improvement, and digital automation.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities, with the ability to resolve complex business challenges and balance competing priorities.
- Significant expertise across planning, performance management, control, risk management, and commercial finance activities.
- Ability to lead and collaborate effectively across large, globally diverse teams, cultures, and stakeholder groups.
