The HR Onboarding Coordinator I is responsible for creating a seamless, positive, and “white glove” onboarding experience for all new teammates. From offer acceptance through day one, this role ensures that new hires are welcomed and well-informed. The Onboarding Coordinator I owns the preboarding process, ensures compliance with onboarding requirements, and serves as a trusted point of contact for new teammates. This role plays a critical part in shaping first impressions and setting the tone for a positive and engaging teammate experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as the primary contact for new hires, delivering personalized support throughout the preboarding and onboarding process
Coordinate all preboarding tasks, including background checks, employment eligibility, licensure verifications, and required documentation
Ensure all new teammates are accurately and timely entered into the HRIS system and connected to the appropriate onboarding workflows
Partner with IT, Hiring Managers, and other departments to ensure everything is ready for the new hire’s first day (equipment, schedule, access, etc.)
Lead or coordinate new hire welcome sessions and provide ongoing support through their early journey
Monitor and track onboarding completion metrics, follow up on outstanding items, and support compliance with onboarding standards
Maintain onboarding documentation and SOPs, identifying opportunities to streamline or improve the process
Gather feedback from new teammates and contribute to continuous improvement of the onboarding experience
Champion a welcoming, inclusive experience that reflects ASHN’s values and culture
Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
1–3 years of experience in HR, recruiting, or onboarding coordination
Exceptional attention to detail, time management, and organization skills
Passion for creating meaningful, people-first experiences
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a warm and professional demeanor
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Workday or other HRIS platforms a plus
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
EDUCATION AND CREDENTIALS
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent experience accepted)
