The Role
We're looking for an experienced Electrical & Controls Engineer to join our multidisciplinary engineering team. In this role, you'll lead automation projects from concept through commissioning, developing innovative electrical and control solutions for industrial and water treatment applications.
What You'll Do:
- Design electrical control systems, control panels, and automation architectures
- Develop PLC and HMI programs (Allen-Bradley/Rockwell preferred)
- Review electrical schematics, specifications, and P&IDs
- Create electrical drawings and documentation using AutoCAD Electrical
- Perform Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and field support
- Integrate systems with customer SCADA platforms
- Prepare project documentation, submittals, and O&M manuals
- Collaborate with customers, contractors, vendors, and cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery
- Identify opportunities to improve designs, reduce costs, and drive continuous improvement
- Provide technical support and training for customers and internal teams
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
- 5+ years of experience in industrial automation and process control
- Strong PLC/HMI programming experience, especially Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation
- Experience with electrical control panel design, system integration, and commissioning
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, engineering specifications, and P&IDs
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer-facing skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with water or wastewater treatment systems
- Experience with Siemens, Schneider Electric/Modicon, GE, or other PLC platforms
- AutoCAD Electrical and SCADA integration experience
- Knowledge of NEC, cUL, and IEC standards
