Join our Level 2EQ (IIIA equivalent) Women and Infant’s Services Department at Banner Estrella Medical Center and become part of our amazing team of professionals. We provide a range of services from complex Obstetrical cases 28-week gestation and above, to low-risk mothers and infants and those seeking Midwifery care. Our services include 24-hour OB, MFM and Anesthesia coverage. There is no better time than now to be a part of our team with 36 postpartum rooms, 13 LDR rooms, 9 Antepartum rooms, 2 operating rooms, 4 recovery beds, 8 triage evaluation beds and a 20-bed NICU.

As the RN Operations Support Specialist for Labor and Delivery you will have the opportunity to primarily support the L&D onboarding and orientation oversight. You will also support WIS overall staff clinical development, clinical specialty skills pathway, quality care, risk management, safety and nursing standards, and lead department clinical practice implementation.
This is a full-time VARIED position that will support both DAY and NIGHT shift.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for supporting nurse leadership in the planning, development and execution of facility education for clinicians, supporting the on-boarding and orientation of newly hired registered nurses, career development and effective internal clinical communications. This role performs under the guidance and direction of the chief nursing officer or designee and serves as a liaison between all disciplines by effectively communicating, educating and problem solving. This position proactively supports the quality and continuity of services throughout the healthcare systems and assists in resolution of systems issues and enforces facility/unit/department policy/procedures and standards of care. This position coordinates oversight of quality, risk management, safety and nursing standards and is a role model and resource person for providing quality patient care and maintaining clinical competency within the facility/unit/department; collaborates with Clinical Education to coordinate and support the on-boarding and precepting of newly hired nurses (this includes supporting programs and communication within the facility); develops and coordinates system and facility initiatives to promote clinical career development and lateral nurse pathways and may lead and implement facility clinical initiatives. This position contributes to society through activities that lead to excellent patient outcomes through timely, effective, efficient, equitable, safe care; and actively participates in the improvement of national nursing quality indicators and outcomes, such activities may include participating in professional organizations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess knowledge of healthcare as normally obtained through the completion of a Associates degree.
Must possess a current, valid RN license in state of practice, temporary RN license in state of practice, or compact RN licensure for current state of practice. BLS certification is required. Additional certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice.
Requires a minimum of one year experience in an acute care hospital setting. Minimal experience, typically gained through 0-2 years relevant experience.
Employees working at Banner Behavioral Health Hospital, BTMC Behavioral or BUMG, BUMCT in a Behavioral Health clinical setting that serves children must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment. An Arizona Criminal History Affidavit must be signed upon hire. Employees working at BUMCS in a Behavioral Health clinical setting must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree is nursing preferred.
