Job Summary:

The Nominee Services team is responsible for the end-to-end management of corporate actions and facilitation of shareholder services for securities admitted into HKSCC, supporting a broad range of listed products (e.g. equities, fixed income, structured products and etc.) across the Hong Kong and Mainland China markets. The successful candidate will lead a team and play a key leadership role in overseeing complex and high-profile corporate action events, ensuring accurate and timely. The role also involves leading strategic projects, market initiatives, and business transformations, including the implementation of new products, services, and regulatory enhancements. The candidate is expected to demonstrate strong execution and communication capabilities, effectively coordinating internal and external stakeholders, managing competing priorities, proactively resolving issues, and driving successful outcomes within timelines. As a people leader, the candidate will be responsible for developing team capabilities, fostering employee engagement and well-being, and creating an a high-performing team.

Job Responsibilities:

Corporate Action Operations & Execution

  • Lead and oversee designated corporate action operations, ensuring accurate and timely execution of corporate events and related shareholder services.
  • Manage and coordinate complex, non-routine, and high-profile corporate action events and other market-sensitive transactions.
  • Monitor event execution performance, escalate issues where appropriate, and make timely decisions to minimize operational impact and execution risk.

Risk Management & Operational Resilience

  • Proactively identify execution risks, operational bottlenecks, and emerging issues, and work with stakeholders to develop practical solutions and mitigation measures.
  • Review and strengthen operational controls, governance frameworks, and risk management practices to support a robust and well-controlled operating environment.
  • Lead incident management, root cause analysis, and remediation efforts to strengthen operational resilience and prevent recurrence.

Stakeholder Management

  • Act as a key liaison with issuers, share registrars, market participants, regulators, and internal stakeholders to ensure effective communication, coordination, and execution of corporate action events or initiatives.
  • Represent the team in cross-functional working groups and project committees.

Projects & Transformation Delivery

  • Lead or participate in strategic projects, market initiatives, new product launches, and regulatory-driven enhancements, ensuring successful implementation within agreed timelines and objectives.
  • Drive process transformation, automation, and operational improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, scalability, risk management, and client experience.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Manage and lead a medium-sized team (10+ employees) responsible for corporate action operations, ensuring effective delivery of business-as-usual activities and initiatives.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development opportunities to team members while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and execution excellence.
  • Recognize and celebrate achievements, promote employee engagement and well-being by maintaining regular communication, providing support, and creating opportunities for meaningful participation and contribution.

Requirements:

  • University degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in corporate actions or asset servicing, including at least 6 years in a managerial capacity.
  • Solid knowledge of Hong Kong securities market operations and corporate action practices. Experience in China Connect, fixed income, or securities operations and corporate action practices in international market would be an advantage.
  • Solid experience in managing, coaching, and developing teams, with strong focus on fostering employee engagement, talent development, and a positive team culture.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and coordination skills, with the ability to engage and influence diverse internal and external parties.
  • Strong ability to proactively identify issues, assess risks, formulate solutions, and drive effective resolution.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and risk management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • A self-motivated and results-oriented leader with strong ownership, execution capability, and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese. Fluency in Putonghua is an advantage.
