Description

[What the role is]

The Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) team oversees PUB's enterprise risk management framework to strengthen organisational resilience and support the delivery of PUB's mission. Working closely with both operational and corporate departments, the team facilitates the identification, assessment and management of enterprise risks across the organisation.

Beyond maintaining the enterprise risk management framework, the team conducts regular reviews of key enterprise risks, emerging issues and mitigating measures to ensure that PUB's Enterprise Risk Register remains relevant and responsive to changes in the operating environment.

[What you will be working on]

We are looking for someone who has a strong appreciation of how engineering and operational risks can affect organisational resilience and mission success. The ideal candidate enjoys understanding complex operational issues, engaging technical specialists across different engineering disciplines, and translating these into strategic insights that support informed decision-making.

Candidates should preferably possess an engineering qualification with relevant operational experience in one or more of the following disciplines:

  • Civil Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Instrumentation Engineering
  • or other related engineering disciplines

What You Will Bring

Besides relevant technical experience, the successful candidate should possess strong analytical, systems and strategic thinking skills, and be able to examine issues from both technical and enterprise perspectives.

The candidate should also be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to translate complex engineering and operational issues into clear, relevant and actionable insights for audiences with varying levels of technical knowledge, including Senior Management.

As enterprise risk management often involves working across multiple functional domains, we are looking for someone who is intellectually curious, enjoys learning about unfamiliar technical areas, and is comfortable dealing with ambiguity while exercising sound judgement.

Working with Stakeholders

As part of a small and dynamic ERM team, you will work closely with officers across PUB's operational and corporate departments to oversee enterprise operational risks and strengthen organisational resilience.

The role requires building strong working relationships with engineering and operational teams to understand their technical concerns, challenge assumptions where appropriate, and facilitate balanced discussions on risk management approaches.

You will also have opportunities to broaden your exposure by supporting the management of corporate enterprise risks and engaging Senior Management through regular enterprise risk management discussions and governance forums.

[What we are looking for]

  • Has at least five years of relevant engineering or operational experience in infrastructure, utilities or related sectors;
  • Preferably possesses a recognised Engineering degree;
  • Demonstrates intellectual curiosity and enjoys learning across diverse engineering and operational domains;
  • Is self-motivated, resourceful and has good communication skills
  • Is interested in of emerging technologies and global developments, and is able to assess their implications for PUB's enterprise risks;
