Role title: Senior Clinician Clinical Lead

Role type: Max term contract full time (until June 2027)

Role grade: Psychologist (Year 3), Clinical Psychologist (Year 3), Counsellor (Level 3, year 1-2) or Social Worker (Level 3, year 1-2)

Department and location: Community Outpatients - Drug Health Service, St Vincent’s Public Hospital, Sydney

Salary: $88,743.00 - $126,049.00 + Super + Salary Packaging

New FY26/27 wage increase to be announced soon. All approved increases will be backdated to 1 July once implemented.

About the role

  • Provide clinical and operational leadership to the STP and ADS outpatient allied health team to support the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based and person-centred care

  • Maintain an advanced clinical caseload, including biopsychosocial assessments, care planning, brief interventions and ongoing treatment for clients experiencing stimulant and other substance use concerns

  • Coordinate client intake, triage, allocation and review processes, and facilitate Clinical Review Meetings and case reviews to support effective service delivery and complex clinical decision-making

  • Provide clinical consultation, mentoring, supervision and workforce development support to multidisciplinary clinicians across ADS Community Outpatients

  • Support the implementation, monitoring and ongoing development of the STP and S-Check Models of Care, including service evaluation, quality improvement, clinical governance and policy activities

  • Monitor service performance, documentation, compliance and stakeholder relationships to support safe, effective and accountable service delivery and improved client outcomes

About you

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Counselling, Social Work, Psychology or another behavioural science discipline, with eligibility for membership of the relevant professional association

  • Extensive clinical experience in alcohol and other drug treatment, including assessment, care planning, brief intervention and therapeutic treatment of clients with complex substance use and co-occurring mental health presentations

  • Advanced knowledge of contemporary evidence-based treatment approaches for substance use disorders, including harm reduction, motivational interviewing and strengths-based practice

  • Demonstrated ability to provide clinical leadership, consultation, mentoring and workforce development support, while coordinating multidisciplinary clinical services and reflective practice

  • Demonstrated experience in quality improvement, clinical governance, service evaluation, policy development, and building effective relationships through high-level communication and organisational skills
