About the role:

We are now looking for Completion Engineer to join our team in Mumbai, India! From our Mumbai office, you will be supporting BP as Technical service provider for partners in successfully planning and delivering completion jobs.
Your main role will be to contribute to well planning and engineering, well construction, performance and lessons learned tracking related to wells within the partner Asset with an overall goal to improve processes, safety, well efficiencies and cost effectiveness.
Key Accountabilities
- Responsible for integration between the Subsurface & Wells Directorate and the asset.
- Work within an integrated team of engineers and operations to ensure delivery of high-quality wells activity, in accordance with industry safety and technical standards.
- Act as ‘Wells Specialist’ during major events (e.g. Task force, Investigations).
- Support the cross-discipline reviews of subsurface and drilling major NPT events and work as link between subsurface, surface, drilling and well services.
- Lead and support efficiency improvement exercises such as 5WHYS, mini-RCFA and After-Action Reviews with other disciplines when needed.
- Provide technical support to ONGC in the planning and execution of new wells and workover operations.
- Lead the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives for drilling and workover operations in Western Offshore including SIMOPS.
- Lead technology assessment, piloting and full-scale implementation for drilling solutions, Rig workovers, and material selection.
- Reviews historical data and recommend enhancements to existing ONGC drilling and well construction standards.
- Recommend new processes and best practices for planning and execution aiming to improve overall drilling and workover performance, and well reliability.
- Participate in technical discussions with ONGC management, and influence across wider ONGC technical community to share best practice and technical skills across all the assets.
- Provide technical coaching to junior engineers.
- Promote awareness and compliance with HSE rules and industry practices.
Essential Experience and Job requirements
- Minimum 15+ years of broad experience and deep technical completion engineering, operational and rig-based workovers skills, gained through diverse work assignments.
- Experience of working in multi-discipline / functional project team and ability to influence others to provide quality inputs to ensure quality team delivery.
- Aptitude to innovate and open to new ideas.
- Able to manage multiple activities and to quickly respond to changing business priorities.
- Experience in well planning, cost optimization, well performance and workover operations (sidetrack preparation, fishing and milling).
- Experience in multi-well platform drilling and dealing with associated challenges like anti- collision, integrity, SIMOPS, others.
- Experience in different types of drilling techniques like side-tracking, multi-laterals, horizontal wells, extended reach drilling, CTD, UBD, others.
- Experience dealing with drilling and workover NPT causes as wellbore stability, mud losses, stuck pipe, fishing, milling and well integrity related issues.
- Proficient user of Engineering Software Packages such as WellCat, StressCheck, WellPlan and Compass.
- Fluent in written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate confidently at all organizational levels.
Education criteria
- Degree in Engineering or equivalent program from an Accredited University.
- Membership of a recognised professional body.
Desirable criteria
- Experience working in international JV’s and complex multicultural environments is preferred. Appreciates the challenges of and value generated by a diverse working environment.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal), interpersonal and relationship building skills with the ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment.
- A proven ability to coach, train and mentor staff.
- Experience in working with National Oil Companies is desirable.
