PURPOSE OF POSITION: A Level I Snowmaker is responsible for maintaining, moving, and setting up snow guns and hoses for extensive snowmaking operation.    

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Perform the required equipment inspections and servicing and record results accurately and completely  

  • Assist senior snowmakers with daily snowmaking operations and equipment setup 

  • Safely operate snowmaking equipment and snowmobiles  

  • Report any problems with the product or equipment which arises during an assignment  

  • Assist co-workers with minor equipment repairs  

  • Maintain the cleanliness of the equipment and facilities  

  • Follow proper radio communication and professional conduct standards 

  • Other duties as assigned  

 

SPECIFIC JOB REQUIREMENTS:   

  • One season of winter snowmaking or related mountain operations experience preferred 

  • Heavy equipment experience preferred   

  • Basic knowledge of hand tools and mechanical systems 

  • Must be safety conscious and have a mechanical aptitude  

  • Understanding or development of snowmaking/removal objectives and techniques   

  • Must be able to lift and carry at least 60 pounds regularly  

  • Able to walk on steep and variable terrain and tolerate working in extreme conditions  

  • Reliable transportations during winter conditions 

 

DATES OF EMPLOYMENT:  

  • 10/28/2026 - 1/30/2027 

  • Must be able to work flexible shifts – including day, swing, or grave shifts  

 

PAY RATE:  

  • Pay: $21.00 per hour
