Job Summary
This position is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing production equipment and areas to ensure compliance with food safety and company standards.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Perform dry pick-up of inedible materials from equipment and floors
- Clean equipment using high-pressure hoses
- Execute cleaning and sanitation activities using approved chemical agents (sanitizers, acids, caustics)
- Supports sanitation operations by handling chemical agents, including defoamers, and performing mixing activities in accordance with established procedures.
- Perform pre-operational inspections to ensure equipment is ready for production
- Follow USDA, HACCP, and GMP policies to ensure food safety
- Follow all company safety procedures, including Lock-Out/Tag-Out
- Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Complete additional tasks as assigned to support sanitation operations
- Additional duties may be assigned as needed
Requirements
- Must be willing and able to work in wet, humid, and extremely cold environments
- Must be willing and able to work with cleaning chemicals, including caustic agents
- Must be willing and able to work in elevated areas and around electrical equipment as needed
- Must be willing and able to work weekends and overtime as needed
Physical Requirements – The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
- Willing and able to stand for the duration of the shift (8-10 hours)
- Willing and able to perform frequent walking, reaching, bending, kneeling, crouching, and climbing
- Willing and able to operate high-pressure hoses for extended periods
- Willing and able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
