Farms Systems Coach - Dairy Holdings. Canterbury, NZ

As the business continues to grow, Dairy Holdings is investing further in the technical capability that underpins that success through the appointment of a Farm Systems Coach.

This is an influential technical role focused on supporting farm performance across New Zealand's largest dairy farming businesses. Working alongside the Farm Systems Manager, Farm Supervisors, Farm Managers, Contract Milkers and Sharemilkers, you will play a key role in ensuring the Dairy Holdings farming system continues to deliver consistent and repeatable results across the business.

Guided by the established Dairy Holdings farming system, you will provide specialist expertise across pasture management, feed planning, reproduction, body condition scoring, herd performance and livestock management. Using farm performance data, benchmarking, on farm observations and technical analysis, you will identify opportunities to improve performance and productivity, develop practical improvement plans, and work alongside farm operators to ensure those initiatives are successfully implemented and sustained

Your background may include farm consultancy, advisory, extension, farm systems, research, technical services or farm leadership role. Whatever your background, you'll be naturally curious, analytical and motivated by helping farming businesses achieve better outcomes through the application of sound technical principles and practical decision making. You'll have a strong understanding of pasture-based farming systems along with examples of where you've improved farm performance and productivity through effective farm systems. You'll also know there are few silver bullets in farming and that long-term gains come from getting the fundamentals right.
