Manager - Pharmacy (Central Fill) - Job Overview

Schedule: Monday-Friday (8:30AM-5:30PM)

As the Manager – Pharmacy Central Fill, you’ll help keep medication access moving smoothly across multiple Legacy Pharmacy locations. In this meaningful leadership role, you will guide the efficient and effective operation of the Central Fill Pharmacy while supporting safe, compliant, and patient-centered prescription fulfillment.

What You’ll Do

• Serve as the Pharmacist-in-Charge for a Class A license pharmacy and ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee the centralized prescription fulfillment process, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to regulatory requirements.
• Manage and lead a team of pharmacy staff, providing guidance, coaching, and support.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures specific to central fill pharmacy operations to ensure consistent and safe practices.
• Collaborate with other pharmacy managers and healthcare professionals to optimize medication management and patient care.
• Ensure adequate staffing by coordinating coverage during unexpected call-outs, and provide direct support by staffing as needed to maintain operational continuity.
• Monitor and manage inventory levels at the central fill location, ensuring adequate stock and minimizing waste.
• Maintain accurate records, including patient profiles, prescription history, and medication orders.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and advances in central fill pharmacy operations.
• Resolve issues or challenges related to centralized prescription fulfillment.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to pharmacy staff.
• Serve as a preceptor to students of affiliated schools of pharmacy and pharmacy residents when available.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy/ PharmD
• Possess a current, unrestricted Texas Pharmacist license, or eligible for licensure
• Texas pharmacist preceptor license

Required Years of Experience

• 2+ years of experience as a Pharmacy Manager or in Central Fill Pharmacy Operations

Desirable Education and/or Experience

• Masters in Business Administration (MBA) or Healthcare Administration (MHA)

Required Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities

• Working knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, and State/Federal laws governing medical services.
• Administrative, management, or supervisory experience.
• Exceptional leadership, mediation abilities, and multi-tasking skills required.
• Strong commitment to customer service and excellence in healthcare.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Basic knowledge of statistics and graphical representation principles.
• Computer literate in electronic mail, word processing, and office management system software.
• Must be able to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize
