Role description:
We are seeking a technically strong interior design professional with proven experience in technical detailing, bespoke joinery package development, and construction-stage coordination. The successful candidate will be responsible for translating concept and design intent into coordinated, high-quality technical documentation that supports tender, fabrication, and site delivery across a range of complex interior projects.

These commissions complement an already diverse body of work across the workplace, retail, F&B, banking, automotive, residential, hospitality, and industrial sectors.
Reporting to the Design Manager, you will provide technical design leadership and support across a variety of projects within the built environment. Operating across such a diverse marketplace, you will gain exposure to a wide range of sectors, project typologies, and delivery stages, further developing your technical capability and strengthening your career within a growing and successful global Interior Design Consultancy.
This role will have a particular focus on the technical development and delivery of interior architecture packages, including the production and coordination of detailed drawing information, bespoke joinery packages, and construction-ready documentation. You will play a key role in translating design intent into clear, coordinated, and buildable solutions that support successful project delivery on site
Role accountabilities:
- Take responsibility for the delivery of a defined part of a project, typically with fees in the range of £500k–£1m
- Plan assigned projects and allocate work effectively to ensure timely delivery and efficient utilisation of resources
- Monitor the commercial performance of the project and take remedial action where necessary
- Work with key stakeholders to clarify project scope, technical requirements, and specific client criteria
- Lead the development of technical design information through relevant project stages, ensuring outputs are coordinated, accurate, and suitable for tender, construction, and fabrication
- Produce and oversee the delivery of technical drawing packages, including detailed interior architectural information and bespoke joinery documentation
- Prepare and coordinate joinery packages covering items such as fitted furniture, cabinetry, wall panelling, reception desks, tea points, storage units, feature elements, and other bespoke millwork items
- Ensure all packages clearly communicate dimensions, materials, finishes, tolerances, interfaces, ironmongery, and installation intent
- Coordinate technical information with internal teams and external consultants, contractors, suppliers, and specialist subcontractors
- Review and comment on shop drawings, fabrication details, and technical submittals to ensure compliance with design intent and project requirements
- Support construction-stage delivery by responding to technical queries, reviewing site issues, and assisting with resolution of coordination challenges
- Monitor the performance of team members, identify issues, and support their resolution
- Coach, guide, and provide technical advice to junior team members, supporting both project delivery and professional development
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of drawing standards, technical quality, and project delivery processes
- Identify new business opportunities and support the development and preparation of winning sales proposals

Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture, or a related discipline
- Membership of a relevant professional body appropriate to the role
- Demonstrable ability to lead and deliver projects within one or more relevant sectors
- Strong technical design capability, with proven experience in the development of detailed interior architecture and joinery packages
- Experience producing and coordinating construction documentation for interior projects across multiple project stages
- Strong understanding of materials, finishes, construction methods, fabrication constraints, and detailing principles
- Experience working on multi-disciplinary design projects within the interior design environment
- Competent in Revit and Common Data Environment (CDE) platforms, with working knowledge of other recognised industry design software
- Strong understanding and practical experience of delivering projects in a BIM environment
- Thorough understanding of the delivery and management of all RIBA Work Stages
- Experience reviewing and coordinating supplier, subcontractor, and shop drawing information
- Good understanding of statutory, technical, and coordination requirements relevant to interior project delivery
- Effective technical, project management, client relationship management, and commercial skills
- Creative and innovative thinker, with the ability to balance design intent with technical delivery and buildability
