Position Summary:
The Girl Experience Program Manager provides oversight for council-wide girl programming, such as highest awards, large girl events, outdoor programs including summer camp, program partner opportunities, Girl Scouts on the Go, and other council program initiatives. This position leads the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of engaging, high-quality girl programming that strengthens the Girl Scout Leadership Experience while increasing participation and supporting member retention.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise, coach, and develop Program staff to ensure high-quality program planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Lead strategic efforts to increase participation, accessibility, and retention across all Girl Experience programs and initiatives.
- Ensure engaging, inclusive, and impactful programming that reflects the Girl Scout Leadership Experience and supports positive member outcomes.
- Maintain high standards of health and safety in all activities for girls and staff by adhering to the GSUSA Safety Checkpoints.
- Ensure timely notification of management regarding areas of improvement, concern, and risk.
- Provide leadership and oversight for mobile programming, Highest Awards, outdoor programming, summer camp, program partnerships, and council-wide girl events.
- Participate in the planning and facilitation of programs, events, trainings, and other Girl Experience initiatives as needed.
- Foster strong relationships with volunteers, community organizations, and program partners to expand opportunities for Girl Scouts throughout the council.
- Monitor program quality, participation trends, and outcomes, using data to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Create and oversee summer residence camp programming, including staff planning and hiring.
- Collaborate with the Training department on creating girl programming training for volunteers.
- Provide professional, quality customer service to all customers (members, volunteers, staff, and other community contacts).
- Handle confidential information with integrity and discretion.
- Demonstrate commitment to the Girl Scout mission by representing GSHPA in a positive and professional manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of council-wide initiatives and/or cross-functional teams to further the mission of GSHPA.

Requirements
Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in education, youth development, nonprofit management or a related field.
- Five years of supervisory experience.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multiple programs, projects, and priorities while achieving strategic goals.
- Excellent communication, organizational problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to adapt well to changing circumstances, priorities, and organizational needs.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, and travel throughout the council as needed.
- Work with individuals of diverse backgrounds and ages in a professional manner.
- Ability to pass and maintain required background clearances.
- Lift/carry 25 lbs.
- Sitting, standing, or walking for a moderate period of time is required.
- Physical ability to respond to situations requiring first aid and to assist participants in an emergency.
