Role Overview
Aderant is seeking a Head of Infrastructure to serve as a key member of the technology leadership team, reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO).
This role is responsible for the end-to-end strategy, delivery, and operation of Aderant’s global infrastructure platforms across AWS and Microsoft Azure, supporting both product engineering and customer-facing SaaS environments.
The Head of Infrastructure will lead multiple global teams, including Cloud Operations (Sierra and platform operations) and DevOps, bringing together currently distributed capabilities into a unified, scalable operating model.
A primary focus of this role will be the evolution and reliability of Aderant’s Sierra cloud environments, which are predominantly single-tenant deployments, alongside enabling consistent infrastructure, deployment, and operational practices across all products.
This leader will establish clear ownership across infrastructure, platform services, DevOps, and cloud operations—driving standardization, reliability, and efficiency while enabling engineering teams to deliver at scale.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure Strategy & Organizational Leadership
Define and execute a multi-year infrastructure strategy aligned with Aderant’s product and platform goals.
Lead and integrate global Cloud Operations and DevOps teams into a cohesive Infrastructure organization.
Establish clear ownership boundaries and operating models across Infrastructure, DevOps, and Engineering.
Build and scale high-performing global teams, including senior leaders across Cloud Operations and DevOps.
Cloud Operations & Service Reliability (Sierra Focus)
Own end-to-end availability, resilience, and performance of all customer-facing SaaS environments.
Drive operational excellence across Sierra single-tenant environments, ensuring consistent, high-quality hosting and uptime.
Standardize monitoring, alerting, and incident management across all platforms.
Lead global incident response, on-call structures, and post-incident review processes.
Ensure disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity capabilities.
DevOps & Engineering Enablement
Own and evolve DevOps capabilities across the organization, including CI/CD, deployment pipelines, and environment management.
Drive consistency in build, release, and deployment practices across product teams.
Enable engineering teams through self-service infrastructure, automation, and standardized tooling.
Partner with Engineering leadership to improve developer experience, release velocity, and operational accountability.
Infrastructure & Platform Engineering
Drive standardization of infrastructure provisioning and management through Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
Establish reusable platform services and shared infrastructure capabilities across products.
Ensure consistency across environments (development, staging, production).
Support both single-tenant and multi-tenant SaaS models through scalable infrastructure design.
Multi-Cloud & Environment Management
Define and enforce enterprise standards across AWS and Azure.
Oversee capacity planning, performance optimization, and regional infrastructure strategy.
Ensure effective workload placement and resource utilization across environments.
Cross-Functional Leadership
Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering leadership to align infrastructure and development practices.
Act as a trusted advisor to executive stakeholders on infrastructure strategy, risk, and investment priorities.
Drive a culture of accountability, reliability, and continuous improvement across all infrastructure-related teams.
Qualifications
10+ years of experience across Infrastructure, Cloud Operations, and/or DevOps, with significant leadership responsibility.
Proven experience leading multiple infrastructure-related functions (e.g., Cloud Ops, DevOps, Platform Engineering) in a SaaS organization.
Experience operating large-scale SaaS platforms in cloud environments (AWS and Azure).
Strong understanding of both operational (SRE/Cloud Ops) and engineering (DevOps/platform) disciplines.
Experience managing both single-tenant and multi-tenant SaaS environments is highly desirable.
Deep expertise in:
Cloud platforms: AWS and Azure
Infrastructure as Code: Terraform (preferred), CloudFormation, ARM/Bicep
CI/CD and DevOps tooling (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, etc.)

Strong operational and organizational leadership skills, with experience managing large-scale environments.
Excellent executive communication skills, with the ability to influence C-level stakeholders.
