Job Details:
This position is responsible for performing a variety of tasks within the department related to the setup, operation, and monitoring of bird chillers.
Key responsibilities include conducting hourly checks and maintaining accurate records, including bird temperatures, PAA levels, chlorine levels, and overall chiller performance. The Chiller Attendant will adjust chiller agitation, maintain appropriate water levels, monitor bird moisture, and track condensation in the area.
Additional duties include monitoring pH levels and making adjustments as needed, regulating auger speeds, and checking temperatures at various points within the chiller system. The Chiller Attendant is also responsible for picking up birds from the floor around the chillers and from drain pans under the lines.
During breaks, the Chiller Attendant will assist with cleaning by washing down the chiller area and the evisceration department. This role requires ongoing coordination with the refrigeration team to maintain optimal chiller temperatures.
The position requires frequent lifting of 5 pounds or more and involves repetitive motions such as gripping, pushing, lifting, pinching, and pulling. Additional duties may be assigned by the Supervisor.
Computer/Tablet Skills (English)
- Basic math skills required for calculations
- Ability to perform data entry in company computer systems
