The director is a hands-on engineering leader responsible for engineering teams that build and support the systems used by Lennar's corporate functions. This role owns technical direction, delivery, and team leadership across these domains, and is accountable for ensuring the platforms and applications supporting corporate operations are secure, scalable, well-architected, and increasingly powered by AI-driven capabilities. The incumbent will be an experienced, dynamic, solution-focused technology leader who is hands-on, technology savvy, and focused on building high-performing teams that deliver the most value to the business.
Your Responsibilities on the Team
- Serve as the Leader of Engineering, setting the vision, structure, and culture for the teams within the organization
- Set technical direction and engineering strategy for corporate systems, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards and the broader Lennar Technology Group roadmap
- Partner with business leaders across corporate functions to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions
- Drive the adoption of AI and automation (e.g., agentic workflows, LLM-powered tooling, intelligent process automation) across the engineering organization to improve efficiency and the quality of solutions delivered
- Own delivery execution across the portfolio, including prioritization, resourcing, budget management, and vendor/contractor oversight
- Establish and maintain engineering best practices across the organization, including code quality, CI/CD, security, and operational excellence
- Recruit, mentor, and grow engineering managers and individual contributors; build a strong bench of technical talent and clear career paths
- Collaborate with cross functional domains to ensure corporate systems meet enterprise standards for security, resiliency, and scalability
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered in lieu of degree.
- A significant amount of progressive engineering experience is required, including experience in an engineering leadership role overseeing multiple teams.
- Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams supporting enterprise functions
- Hands-on experience with modern software architecture, cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure), and microservices/API-based development
- Practical experience applying AI/ML or generative AI (e.g., LLMs, agentic frameworks) to real business problems and production systems
- Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies and modern DevSecOps practices
- Experience managing budgets, vendor relationships, and staff augmentation/contractor resources
- Proven ability to influence and partner with senior business and technology stakeholders
Physical & Office/Site Presence Requirements:
This is primarily a sedentary office position which requires the incumbent to have the ability to operate computer equipment, speak, hear, bend, stoop, reach, lift, and move and carry up to 25 lbs. Finger dexterity is necessary.
