- Process Optimization: Continually evaluate and refine accounting workflows to eliminate manual bottlenecks, reduce errors, and scale internal controls as our project volume grows.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: [PL1] Partner with the People & Talent Manager on seamless payroll execution, benefits administration, and employee-related financial reporting. Work alongside the Risk & Process Manager on compliance and internal audits.
- External Advisory Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for external CPA firms, auditors, and tax advisors, ensuring all documentation is organized and audit-ready.
- Strategic Leadership Support: Identify financial trends, risks, and project-costing opportunities, communicating plain-language insights to leadership for confident decision-making.
What Success Looks Like:
- Trusted Financials: Leadership relies implicitly on your financial reports to make strategic operational decisions.
- Predictable Cadence: Month-end close runs smoothly and predictably on schedule.
- Strong Relationships: Subcontractors and vendors are paid promptly, customer billing is completed accurately, and internal field teams feel supported.
- Scalable Systems: Financial controls and accounting workflows are organized, efficient, and built to handle company growth.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience: 5+ years of progressive accounting experience (B.S. in Accounting or equivalent preferred).
- Core Technical Expertise: Hands-on knowledge of GL management, financial statements, full-cycle close, payroll, and AP/AR.
- Project Accounting: Experience with job costing or project-based accounting environments (telecommunications, construction, or technical services preferred).
- Analytical Precision: Meticulous attention to detail with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving account discrepancies.
- Communication & Drive: A self-starter attitude with the ability to collaborate across departments and explain financial data clearly to non-finance team members.
Benefits:
We believe in supporting our employees with a reliable schedule and a complete, highly competitive compensation package:
- Schedule: Standard 8-hour shift (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday).
- Paid Time Off: 20 PTO days per year + 8 paid company holidays.
