Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's or Technology degree in Engineering or a related specialized area/field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience, plus 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus 3 years of experience.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities for this Position
The Guidance Support Task Lead provides technical and operational leadership for Guidance and Fire Control engineering activities supporting the U.S. Navy Strategic Weapons System at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.This position leads a team of Fleet Support Engineers, provides technical direction on complex guidance system issues, and serves as a primary interface between onsite customers, Program Management, and senior government and contractor leadership.The ideal candidate is a strong technical problem solver and leader who can manage competing priorities, communicate effectively with senior leadership, and drive complex issues to resolution in a mission-focused environmentWhat you will do:
- Lead and mentor a team of Guidance Fleet Support Engineers.
- Provide technical leadership for complex Guidance and Fire Control troubleshooting issues.
- Coordinate engineering support for laboratory, fleet, flight test, DASO, ASTE, and customer operations.
- Serve as a technical liaison between customers, Program Management, engineering teams, and external stakeholders.
- Manage priorities, schedules, resources, and multiple concurrent engineering efforts.
- Review technical documentation, test plans, procedures, and reports.
- Identify and communicate technical risks, issues, impacts, and recommended solutions to leadership.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to resolve issues affecting system readiness and mission success.
- Develop technical status reports and executive-level briefings.
- Mentor engineers and promote knowledge sharing, continuous improvement, and technical excellence.
- Identify opportunities to improve engineering processes through innovation, automation, and responsible use of AI technologies.
- Support 24/7 operational readiness during critical test and mission events as required.

- Previous experience as a Technical Lead orTask Lead.
- Experience supporting fleet operations, laboratory testing, system integration, or flight test activities.
- Familiarity with SSP, NAVSEA, or Department of Defense programs.
- Previous US Navy or defense industry experience.
