Job Description
The Regional Quality Director provides strategic leadership and direction for quality performance across multiple manufacturing facilities within the assigned region. This role is responsible for driving a culture of quality excellence, ensuring compliance with regulatory, customer, and certification requirements, and aligning regional quality initiatives with business objectives. As a key partner to Operations, Commercial, Engineering, and Corporate Quality leadership, the Regional Quality Director leads continuous improvement efforts, supports customer satisfaction initiatives, and develops quality strategies that enhance operational performance and reduce risk across the network.
Key Job Accountabilities
As part of the Quality Leadership team, you'll be responsible for:
- Provide support and direction to Plant Quality Managers, Quality teams, and plant Operations Managers to achieve Quality goals and objectives within the operational region
- Connect plant teams with corporate resources, training opportunities, Subject Matter Experts, sister plants, and other support functions when required to support quality improvement needs and initiatives
- Review customer complaints and claims responses for thoroughness of investigation, root cause identification, effectiveness of corrective actions and additional opportunities for improvement for high impact incidents
- Ensure impactful learnings are shared and implemented across the network where appropriate
- Cascade quality initiatives, objects, goals and plans from top management through plant teams and support successful implementation and execution of these activities
- Provide strategic guidance to the region to ensure quality objectives are achieved
- Lead plant activities regarding potential legal actions related to customer quality events including development of agreements, customer claims and other potential product liability issues requiring legal support.
- Establish and maintain good relationships with customers including leading Focus Customer teams and serving as Single Point of Contact for Focus and Enterprise Key Customers
- Support Commercial and Operational teams by participating in communication with customers regarding quality issues and actions to be taken for high impact, repeat and other customer claims
- Assist in the development of policies and procedures that support the Quality Management System for the business
- Assist plants to prepare for and during 2nd and 3rd party audits to ensure required compliance to applicable certification and customer standards
- Assist in the management of the Change Control Process to ensure timely customer notification of changes
- Assist Corporate Engineering and Customers in Quality plan development
- Advise management on potential risks associated with Quality issues
- Provide updates, feedback and support for multi-site and regional Operations and Commercial leaders through data, reports and other observations
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field
- Five years of Quality leadership experience
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- Proficient with Microsoft O365 suite
- Demonstrated ability to provide guidance and leadership to others
- Demonstrated ability to develop a team environment
- Working knowledge of SPC, Six Sigma, and team building
- Plastics experience desired
- Working knowledge of ISO and Food Safety standards
- Experience with various 3rd party audit organizations covering ISO and Food Safety standards
- Travel to assigned locations (25% - 30% travel required)
