Description
The Warehouse Specialist will buy products and services that are essential for day-to-day operations. You will review prices and quality and ensure optimal product, economic performance, and stock levels. In support of these goals, you will process, accept, and ship orders, and keep the warehouse organized, which includes everything from physically moving product around the warehouse and plant space to properly maintaining all inventory, shipping, and receiving records.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Provides professional purchasing and re-purchasing of parts, supplies, consumables, and inventory items according to established guidelines and company policies.
· Research and evaluate suppliers and supply chains, with input from internal stakeholders, to identify the best value available.
· Negotiate pricing and terms, when possible, to achieve the best value available in the market.
· Meet with and maintain relationships with current suppliers as well as potential new vendors as needed to review vendor products and services.
· Order and reorder items to maintain inventory, facilitate timely repairs, and support capital projects.
· Maintain up-to-date and accurate location and inventory information and complete timely regular physical inventories.
· Process daily inventory adjustments from usage records and check out sheets as needed.
· Inspect all orders being received and shipped, checking for damage, defective parts, and missing items.
· Accept deliveries of products and store them in an orderly manner. Report and return damaged product. Pack and ship orders, samples, and other packages for delivery.
· Direct salvage of damaged, used, and discarded materials with managerial approval.
· Maintain upkeep of warehouse and other storage areas (cleaning, organizing, etc.).
· Consult with and assist shop personnel, engineers, and other personnel on various needs relating to equipment, parts, supplies, and vendors.
· Maintain and drive company truck to pick up and deliver supplies, to courier to Helena Administration offices and to pick up or deliver mail in a safe and efficient manner.
· Safely operate forklift or other machinery required for transporting large orders and heavy products.
· Perform duties such as preparing and transmitting purchase orders, reviewing contracts, confirming orders, etc.
· Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED; Prefer a Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or five years related experience in the areas of warehouse management and purchasing with an emphasis on professional purchasing practices.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
COMPUTER APPLICATION SKILLS
Proficient in the current version of Windows; Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Great Plains
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
