Description
Duties Include:
- Corresponding with logistics companies to coordinate and verify pickups.
- Transport completed stands from manufacturing facility to powder coat facility.
- Process, package, label, and load onto trucks dispenser stands under pressure.
- Coordinate with the powder coat team to maintain a steady flow of projects and avoid disruptions.
- Maintain regular communication with management.
- Meet and exceed shipping goals unsupervised.
- Receive incoming material deliveries from trucks, including structural steel, plate, tube, pipe, and other metals.
- Operate forklift to unload, move, and stock materials in designated yard and warehouse locations.
- Verify incoming deliveries against purchase orders and report any shortages, damages, or discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate material locations so shop personnel can quickly find what they need.
- Keep yard, warehouse, and storage areas clean, organized, and free of hazards at all times.
- Stage materials for the shop floor as directed by production and project teams.
- Make local deliveries of fabricated materials, hardware, and supplies to job sites, vendors, and other locations as needed — operating company vehicles safely and professionally.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Assist with physical inventory counts and maintain organized material logs.
- Remove and dispose of scrap, drops, and waste materials from the yard and shop in an organized manner.
- Operate material handling equipment safely and in compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
- Communicate proactively with supervisors regarding low stock, damaged material, or delivery issues.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support shop and yard operations.
- Valid forklift certification (required — must be current and verifiable).
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (required).
- Prior experience in a fabrication, manufacturing, construction, or industrial yard environment preferred.
- Experience making commercial or job site deliveries a plus.
- Ability to read purchase orders, delivery tickets, and basic material specifications.
- Strong attention to detail — accuracy in receiving, stocking, and delivering materials matters.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet in an outdoor/shop environment in Florida weather.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work safely around heavy equipment, overhead cranes, and industrial machinery.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check, MVR check, and drug screening.
