Description
JLL empowers you to shape a brighter way.
Our people at JLL are shaping the future of real estate for a better world by combining world class services, advisory and technology for our clients. We are committed to hiring the best, most talented people and empowering them to thrive, grow meaningful careers and to find a place where they belong. Whether you’ve got deep experience in commercial real estate, skilled trades or technology, or you’re looking to apply your relevant experience to a new industry, join our team as we help shape a brighter way forward.
The role:
JLL is seeking an exceptional Account Director to lead our strategic partnership a major Australian financial institution. This is a pivotal senior leadership role that sits at the intersection of operational excellence, transformation leadership, and executive client engagement.
As Account Director, you will own JLL's end-to-end service delivery and relationship on the Client account – acting as our principal representative to the client's C-suite and senior property, security, and strategy leadership. You will lead a high-performing team through a period of active change as our Client reimagines its workplace strategy and operating model, while maintaining rigorous contract performance, governance, and commercial discipline.
You will be a leader who can operate with pace and precision in a live, complex environment – one who balances strategic vision with hands-on accountability.
The role is based in Sydney CBD.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the day-to-day and strategic relationship with the client's senior stakeholders, representing JLL credibly in front of C-suite and executive leadership on sensitive and scrutinised matters.
- Maintain rigorous oversight of contract KPIs, financial reporting, and risk and compliance frameworks, ensuring transparent, evidence-based reporting to the client.
- Negotiate and manage the account's KPI and performance framework directly with the client, owning resolution of open items, audit findings, and governance action plans.
- Partner with the client's transformation leadership to align JLL's service delivery with their broader change agenda and evolving workplace strategy.
- Lead the design and rollout of experience-led, change-adopted service models that support the client's reimagined space and operating model.
- Identify and develop opportunities to grow JLL's scope and value on the account, supporting bids, rebids, and new service line development.
- Lead and develop a multidisciplinary JLL team consisting of Finance, Operations, Property, Technology & Reporting, and Safety & Compliance functions.
- Translate best practice from JLL's global banking and financial services portfolio into practical recommendations, embedding technology- and data-enabled ways of working.
What You’ll Bring:
- Substantial senior account leadership experience in property, IFM, or corporate real estate—ideally within a regulated or banking-sector environment.
- Demonstrated experience negotiating contract KPIs and managing client governance, audit, and compliance processes with rigorous accountability.
- Strong financial and commercial acumen with the ability to drive performance and growth; CPA/CA qualification or equivalent an advantage.
- Evidence of leading or contributing to organisational change, transformation, or workplace strategy programs in complex stakeholder environments.
- Prior experience within the banking or financial services sector, ideally with a major Australian bank or comparable institution.
- Track record of building and deploying best-practice playbooks or operating models across multiple accounts or markets.
- Practical experience with AI-enabled tools, data/BI platforms, and technology-driven service delivery to enhance client outcomes.
- Comfort operating at pace in a live, complex account with immediate delivery expectations and the ability to balance strategic vision with hands-on execution.
