Why does this job exist and why is it critical?
Sourcing specialist implements sourcing plans to procure materials and services to meet the requirements of business and support units in the scope of IT services and Maxis business. He/She will also negotiate with suppliers for a better and favourable price an achieve savings for end users and the company as a whole in accordance with the process based on stipulated company policies, principles and tender governance process. This role is important to maximize supplier performance by optimizing cost and support Maxis business plan.
What You Will Do:
1 Manage and drive the relationship with key strategic suppliers working in close partnership with IT infrastructure & delivery team to ensure business requirements are captured and met.
2 Negotiate contract elements, including contractual terms and condition, pricing, milestones and expectations to meet quality, delivery and cost objective
3 Maintaining records, analyse, shortlist and negotiate with potential suppliers
4 Manage supplier’s performance, including support, maintenance and monitoring of supplier’s performance metrics
5 Develop competitive proposals to show alternatives and savings
6 Analyse market demand, communicate and coordinate with vendors to determine inventory sourcing strategy
7 Identify, drive and implement cost reduction through pricing, costing & margin spent analysis
What you need to have for this role:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in procurement, vendor management, preferably within IT, telecommunications, or technology-related industries
- Experience supporting or managing Network, IT, or Commercial Services categories, including sourcing initiatives
- Good understanding of IT procurement categories, including software licensing, hardware, cloud services, infrastructure, managed services, cybersecurity solutions, and professional services
- Strong expertise in supplier management, with proven ability to engage, influence, and communicate effectively with vendors
Skills & Knowledge:
- Solid experience in contract negotiation, including commercial terms and conditions
- Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to interpret complex data and translate insights into actionable recommendations
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders and work collaboratively
- High level of autonomy with the ability to manage responsibilities independently
- Proficiency in English, both written and verbal
