WHAT YOU'LL DO:

The Senior BI Clinical Analyst is a senior-level individual contributor responsible for transforming complex clinical, operational, financial, and other enterprise data into accurate, actionable information. The role requires substantial hands-on experience mining and reporting data from Epic and other source systems, developing complex SQL-based reports, and designing effective Tableau dashboards for executive, clinical, operational, quality, and regulatory decision-making.

Compensation Disclosure: $135,000 - $170,000 

The compensation range listed reflects Elica’s good-faith estimate of the anticipated hiring range for this position in accordance with California pay transparency requirements. Final compensation will be determined based on job-related factors, including relevant experience, education, certifications, skills, and qualification.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  •  Serve as a senior technical resource for business intelligence and clinical analytics, translating executive, clinical, and operational questions into clear reporting requirements, KPI definitions, and actionable insights.
  • Mine, extract, integrate, validate, and analyze data from Epic and other clinical, operational, financial, payer, workforce, and external platforms; develop complex reports using Epic Clarity, Caboodle, Cogito, and related reporting tools.
  • Write and optimize advanced SQL queries and data transformations; reconcile data across systems and maintain rigorous validation, documentation, and quality-control processes to ensure reporting accuracy.
  • Design, build, maintain, and enhance effective Tableau dashboards and recurring/ad hoc reports that clearly communicate trends, performance, risks, and opportunities to senior leaders and operational teams.
  • Support regulatory, grant, quality, and performance reporting; automate recurring reporting where practical; mentor other analysts as needed; and ensure compliance with HIPAA, privacy, security, and applicable regulatory requirements.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business intelligence, data analytics, computer science, healthcare informatics, statistics, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in business intelligence, data analytics, reporting, or a related field, including substantial healthcare analytics experience.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with Epic EMR data and reporting is required, including extracting and analyzing data from Epic Clarity and/or Caboodle; experience with Cogito and other Epic reporting tools strongly preferred.
  • Advanced SQL skills and advanced experience designing and developing Tableau dashboards and visualizations for operational and executive audiences are required.
  • Strong knowledge of relational databases, data warehousing, data models, reporting architecture, and the full reporting lifecycle from requirements gathering through validation, deployment, and support.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), community health center, ambulatory care network, or similar safety-net healthcare environment.
  • Knowledge of community health and healthcare quality measures, including UDS, HEDIS, PCMH, population health, value-based care, and related clinical workflows.
  • Epic Cogito, Clarity Data Model, Caboodle Data Model, or other relevant Epic certification(s); experience with Power BI, SSRS, Python, or other reporting/automation tools is also desirable.

  • Strong collaboration and customer-service orientation with a commitment to data governance, documentation, continuous improvement, and reporting standards.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must have a current and valid California driver’s license and the ability to provide proof of personal auto insurance on the vehicle driven during working hours.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

The work environment is characteristic of normal office conditions. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to handle or lift. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus. The employee must also possess hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the phone. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.


The employee may be required to run agency related errands and attend off-site meetings; the employee must be able to operate, maneuver and/or control a motor vehicle. In performing the driving responsibilities, the driver may sit for long periods. This requires intense concentration, particularly in poor driving conditions.
