Description
About the Company
Our client is a well-established heavy civil contractor with more than five decades of experience delivering infrastructure projects throughout the greater Kansas City metropolitan area. With 51–200 employees and annual revenue in the $100M range, the company is vertically integrated, owning and operating its own quarry facilities and asphalt plants. This allows the organization to support both its own projects and outside contractors while maintaining greater control over quality, production, and project execution.
The company’s work spans asphalt paving, concrete construction, cold milling, earthwork, and grading, with projects supporting state DOTs, municipal public works departments, and commercial developers.
About the Position
The company is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator/Project Manager to support the estimating and execution of complex heavy civil projects.
This position offers an opportunity for an experienced construction professional to be involved throughout the project lifecycle—from developing competitive estimates and proposals through project planning, execution, and closeout.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with heavy highway, asphalt, concrete flatwork, earthwork, and wet underground utility projects, along with a strong understanding of project costs, production, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and field operations.
Projects range from approximately $500K to $50M and may include work for state DOTs, municipalities, and commercial clients.

- Coordinate with field Superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, owners, and other project stakeholders.
- Review project progress and identify potential cost or schedule issues.
- Manage change orders, pay applications, project documentation, and other contract requirements.
- Maintain strong client and subcontractor relationships.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and according to contract requirements.
