Role Purpose
The Head of Assurance for Diagnostics leads the global Assurance, Enterprise Risk Management, and Internal Controls functions, providing independent oversight and strategic insight across the organization's operational, financial, compliance, and technology landscape. The role strengthens governance, risk management, and control effectiveness while enhancing organizational resilience and supporting sustainable business growth and transformation.
Key Responsibilities
Audit
Define and execute the global Internal Audit strategy aligned with Diagnostics' business priorities and risk profile
Provide independent assurance across operational, financial, compliance, and IT areas, identifying opportunities to enhance effectiveness, efficiency, and resilience
Ensure the integrity of financial reporting and evaluate the effectiveness of key business processes and controls
Conduct risk-based audits across critical areas including fraud prevention, data privacy, healthcare regulations, compliance, export controls, and cybersecurity
Provide transparent reporting and actionable recommendations to senior leadership and governance bodies, ensuring sustainable remediation of identified findings
Governance
Design, maintain, and continuously improve the governance framework supporting Diagnostics Leadership through independent risk and governance insights
Promote effective decision-making, accountability, and transparency across the organization
Ensure governance processes are aligned with corporate requirements, regulatory expectations, and business priorities
Provide independent insight on governance effectiveness and organizational risk exposure
Drive consistency and best-practice governance standards across regions and functions
Enterprise Risk Management
Own and continuously evolve the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework across Diagnostics, ensuring alignment with business strategy and corporate objectives
Facilitate the identification, assessment, prioritization, and monitoring of strategic, operational, financial, regulatory, technology, and emerging risks
Establish and maintain a lean and comprehensive enterprise risk profile and risk appetite framework for Diagnostics
Provide independent insight and challenge to senior leadership regarding key business risks and mitigation strategies
Lead regular risk reporting and risk reviews with the Diagnostics Leadership Team and relevant governance bodies
Drive forward-looking risk sensing capabilities, including scenario planning, emerging risk identification, and predictive risk analytics
Promote a risk-aware culture and strengthen risk ownership across all levels of the organization
Internal controls
Lead the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and Internal Control System (ICS) frameworks across Diagnostics
Embed informed decision-making by establishing enterprise risk principles
Ensure key strategic, operational, financial, compliance, and technology risks are identified, assessed, mitigated, and transparently reported
Support leaders in fulfilling their risk ownership responsibilities and maintaining effective control environments
Ensure compliance with relevant legal, regulatory, and corporate requirements related to risk management and internal controls
Advance data-driven risk management capabilities through analytics, automation, and continuous monitoring
Leadership, stakeholder management and transformation
Build, motivate, and develop diverse high-performing teams
Develop purposeful relationships, connect people, and strategically build networks
Establish trusted partnerships with senior executives, regulators, and external auditors
Drive a culture of accountability, integrity, and continuous improvement
Position Assurance as a strategic partner to the business, supporting sustainable growth and transformation
Lead the evolution toward a modern, data-driven and forward-looking Assurance function
Qualifications and experience
University degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or related field
Progressive leadership experience in Internal Audit, Risk Management, Internal Controls, Governance, Compliance, or related assurance functions
Demonstrated ability to operate at CFO, Management Team, and Board level within a multinational organization
Deep expertise across audit, governance, enterprise risk management, and internal control frameworks
Strong understanding of financial reporting, regulatory compliance, IT controls, cybersecurity, and emerging enterprise risks
Proven experience designing and enhancing risk management and internal control environments in complex global organizations
Track record of driving transformation through data analytics, automation, and digital assurance capabilities
Demonstrated experience in healthcare, life sciences, diagnostics, highly regulated industries, or similarly complex environments preferred

The base pay range for this position is:
$248,660 - $341,902Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
If this is a commission eligible position the commission eligibility will be in accordance with the terms of the Company's plan. Commissions are based on individual performance and/or company performance.
