Description
The Calibration Technician supports the Quality Department to ensure tools and test equipment for operations use are in proper working order and meet applicable standards and customer requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Managing and executing all aspects of calibration process
- Maintains, calibrates, and repairs equipment per calibration process
- Monitoring, testing, inspecting, calibrating, and repairing instrumentation and equipment
- Maintains calibration documentation following detailed specifications, blueprints, drawings and requirements
- Disassembles, cleans, and replaces parts of test equipment
- Creates and maintains calibration instructions, methods, and applicable documentation based on calibration industry and best practice standards.
- Ensures Calibration process meets all applicable standards (ISO, NIST, etc.)
- Initiates, conducts, tracks, reviews, and ensures proper “outsourcing” of equipment to certified labs as needed.
- Assists in Internal / External Audits for calibration process
- Ensuring calibration metrics are met and maintained.
- Assists Engineering in ensuring proper calibration practices for new equipment or opportunities.
- Communicates and establishes professional working relationship with internal or external customers and suppliers.
- Capable of working and providing results with minimal supervision.
- Able to communicate effectively with leadership bringing up any concerns, opportunities, and providing regular updates.
- Continuous Improvement initiatives in process
- Performs other tasks/duties/projects as assigned by Manager or lead.
Job Requirements
- AS Degree or minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing role.
- Calibration Technician Certification, strongly preferred
- 2-5 years of experience in Calibration role, strongly preferred.
- 2-5 years of experience in Quality role, strongly preferred.
- Experience in handling, testing, and repairing of various instruments-gauges and test equipment, preferred
- Excellent Problem Solving, Statistical, and Analytical skills
- Excellent computer skills.
- Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience utilizing Lean Six Sigma tools, preferred
- Ability to work as a team and independently
- Ability to manage workload with minimal input
- Flexible schedule and OT availability
- Able to lift 50 lbs.
