Job Description
Reporting to the Managing Director, Financial Planning & Analysis, the Compensation Accountant will be responsible for the financial accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting over new and existing compensation plans (e.g., annual discretionary bonus, restricted unit plan, phantom restricted unit plan, carried interest plan, and other incentive plans). This position will also oversee financial accounting of equity purchases and sales under equity purchase programs, and will work closely with the tax and HR teams on tracking relevant data. The role supports the FP&A team during annual budget processes and monthly forecast updates.

Responsibilities
- Establish monthly accounting processes and procedures for the tracking of incentive compensation and equity plans. Post all relevant entries to the general ledger.
- Support activities which provide analysis, financial modeling and internal reporting to support the company’s financial performance.
- Access appropriate data from new and existing systems and work across departments to complete reports and assignments.
- Prepare quarterly footnotes and compensation schedules for leadership and Board
- Participate and support activities related to “what if” scenario and sensitivity analyses for new and existing business functions and product lines.
- Work seamlessly with HR and FP&A teams to understand financial trends (actuals vs. budget), perform variance analysis and complete other financial reporting projects.
- Liaise with JPM Workplace Solutions Team
- Enhance controls and document SOPs around processes
- Implement carried interest software solution along with HR
- Assist with quarterly reviews and annual audits around compensation areas.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred
- 7+ years of Compensation accounting experience
- Experience preparing footnotes and equity roll forwards
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial controls
- Proficiency in financial systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics, OneStream, DFIN, JPM Workplace Solutions)
- Demonstrated leadership and team development skills

Actual base salary within the specified range is comprised of several components, including but not limited to applicant's skill, prior relevant experience, specific degrees and certifications, job responsibilities, market considerations and the location of the position.
This role is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus (based on company, business unit and individual performance).
