Description
Under supervision performs work of moderate difficulty in assigned field; performs related work as assigned.(Illustrative Only)
The essential functions of this position include but are not limited to: driving to deliver mail to the post office; standing and walking to distribute mail; working with co-workers and others sorting and distributing mail; repetitive hand/wrist motion manipulating mail and documents and assisting Recorder Voter Services staff with daily office operations; must be able to effectively handle lifting up to 50 lbs.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Two years' experience in performing clerical or administrative work within subject area; OR, any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
Additional Requirements: Must successfully pass a background check.
The Ideal Candidate will have experience working in a Mail Center and using a commercial postage machine, experience using Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, and is a team player with excellent customer service and data entry skills.

- Professional experience working in a Mail Center with various postage machines and mailing products
- Customer service experience
- Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook experience
- Demonstrates accuracy and attention to detail
- Being able to effectively lift up to 50 lbs.

This position is non-exempt from overtime.Considerable knowledge of:
AmeriCorps, Peace Corps and other national service alumni are encouraged to apply.
- Process and sort incoming and outgoing mail for all County Departments
- Track the receiving of special mail from FedEx, UPS and USPS
- Assist with counting ballots received in the mail and reconcile with BRM postage reporting
- Prepare a monthly postage expense report of department charges
- Assist the departments with folding and inserting documents using the folding machine
- Prepares reports and maintains records
- Maintains control and assures availability of files and other materials
- Establishes and maintains complex filing systems
- Answers questions requiring knowledge of departmental rules and procedures
- Exercises discretion and judgment on minor administrative decisions
- Processes and distributes confidential and sensitive documents
- May oversee and train staff as assigned
- May maintain department budget accounting records
- May answer and route incoming phone calls
