The Role

We are looking for a technically strong, pragmatic and resilient Team Leader of IT & Security Operations, with the ability to take operational ownership of the IT environment, maintain a reliable and secure infrastructure, lead the internal IT team and ensure that technical security requirements are consistently implemented.  

The role requires someone who can balance operational stability, security, business requirements and available resources while maintaining clear documentation, structured processes and transparent escalation of risks and deviations. The role sits at the intersection of operational IT execution and strategic governance requirements, translating security, compliance and management objectives into practical, scalable and secure IT operations and working closely with the CISO and management.

Key Responsibility

We are looking for a technically experienced and hands-on leader with a strong operational mindset and the ability to manage IT in a structured, reliable, accountable and security-conscious way. You are accountable for: 

• A reliable, scalable hybrid IT environment (on-premise infrastructure combined with cloud services where it makes sense)
• Stable and well-maintained on-prem systems, networks, and workplace infrastructure
• Ensure clear and enforceable IT processes, standards, and documentation, as well as continuous improvement across all IT domains
• Efficient IT service delivery and user support across the organization
• Prioritization and workload management in a resource-constrained environment
• IT budget ownership (planning, cost control, vendor and supplier management)
• Leading and developing a small internal team and coordinating external IT service providers
• Defining and executing a pragmatic IT roadmap aligned with business, growth, risk and compliance needs
• Ensuring implementation of and compliance to security policies and governance requirements

Your Profile

You are technically credible, structured and ownership-driven able to lead, prioritize and enforce standards in a fast-growing environment. 

• Proven experience leading and developing a small IT/infrastructure team
• Experience managing IT budgets and external vendors
• Strong understanding of IT operations and governance + ITIL-aligned service management
• Microsoft 365 expertise and identity/endpoint fundamentals, comfortable in Apple environments
• Incident ownership experience incl. root cause analysis and improvement measures
• Solid understanding of networks (topologies, routing, tunneling/VPN)
• Solid Linux administration understanding (operations, patching, hardening), including environments used in specialized technical or IKT systems
• Strong prioritization skills and pragmatic communication style
• Comfortable working in hybrid environments (on-prem + cloud)
• Fluent English; German is an advantage

Nice-to-Have:  

• Experience in maintaining reliable technical documentation and providing evidence for audits and assessments
• Automation (PowerShell/Bash), scripting mindset
• Configuration management (Ansible/Puppet)
• Experience with cloud infrastructure providers and scaling IT in a growing company
• Docker / modern deployment patterns
• Exposure to ISO 27001, NIS2
• Site-to-Site VPN, 802.1X, segmentation concepts
• SIEM/EDR familiarity (e.g., Microsoft Defender/Sentinel)

The minimum gross salary for this position is € 4.208,81 per month (based on full-time employment) in accordance with the collective agreement. However, there is a willingness to offer a higher salary depending on experience and qualifications.
