Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Director, Operations located in Milpitas, California.

The Director, Operations is the senior manufacturing leader responsible for developing and executing the site's operational strategy to support business growth, customer satisfaction, operational excellence, and financial performance. Reporting to the General Manager, this role provides leadership for manufacturing operations across Automotive, Cloud, Industrial, and advanced manufacturing programs, ensuring safe, efficient, scalable, and cost-effective execution.

The Director oversees operations supporting SMT, PCBA, Backend Manufacturing, Mechanical Assembly, Box Build, Rack Assembly, System Integration, and Cleanroom Manufacturing environments. This position is accountable for achieving objectives related to safety, quality, delivery, productivity, capacity utilization, and profitability while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate will be a strategic and results-driven leader who partners closely with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, Human Resources, Program Management, and Customer Business Units to optimize manufacturing performance, support customer growth, and drive sustainable business results in a complex, high-volume manufacturing environment.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Lead and execute the site's manufacturing strategy to support business growth, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee manufacturing operations across SMT, PCBA, Backend Manufacturing, Mechanical Assembly, Box Build, System Integration, and Cleanroom Manufacturing environments.
  • Drive performance improvements in safety, quality, delivery, productivity, inventory management, and financial results.
  • Lead Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, throughput, and operational effectiveness.
  • Partner with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Program Management, and Customer Business Units to ensure successful operational execution and customer support.
  • Support new product introductions, production transfers, capacity planning, and manufacturing scalability to meet customer demand.

The Experience We're Looking to Add to Our Team

  • Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing operations, production leadership, or related discipline.
  • 8+ years of leadership experience managing large-scale manufacturing organizations and high-performing teams.
  • Experience leading high-volume manufacturing operations within Automotive, Industrial, Cloud Infrastructure, EMS, or related industries.
  • Demonstrated success driving operational excellence, productivity improvements, business growth, and customer satisfaction.
  • Strong knowledge of SMT, PCBA, Backend Manufacturing, Mechanical Assembly, Box Build, Rack Assembly, and System Integration operations.
  • Experience leading Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, capacity planning, and KPI-driven performance management initiatives.
  • Strong business acumen, financial management skills, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
