What you'll do...
About the Team:
The B2B Integration Platform is Walmart’s Tier-1 enterprise integration backbone for digital business-document exchange across suppliers, logistics, finance, merchandising, sourcing, and supply-chain systems. The platform supports high-scale flows such as purchase orders, ASNs, invoices, transportation events, imports documents, and financial transactions across multiple partner channels including EDI, APIs, managed file transfer, and web-based supplier experiences.
The team is modernizing a complex integration estate while continuing to operate business-critical supplier and partner flows. Key focus areas include cloud-based translation, canonical data contracts, partner lifecycle management, observability, operational resilience, and progressive migration from legacy EDI maps and integration patterns.
What You’ll Do
Build and support Java-based backend services for B2B document ingestion, transformation, validation, routing, and partner integration.
Contribute to modernization of legacy EDI maps into cloud-native translation and canonical data-model patterns.
Work on EDI flows such as 850 purchase orders, 856 ASNs, invoices, acknowledgements, and related supply-chain documents.
Design and implement APIs, event-driven integrations, data contracts, validation rules, and reconciliation capabilities.
Develop scalable services using Java, Spring Boot, Azure, containers, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and modern observability tooling.
Improve reliability across partner-facing and internal integration flows through idempotency, retries, replay, alerting, and failure isolation.
Partner with architects, product managers, senior engineers, and operations teams to deliver incremental modernization without disrupting critical business flows.
Participate in code reviews, design discussions, production support, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement of platform engineering practices.
What You’ll Bring
Strong hands-on experience in Java backend engineering, preferably with Spring Boot or comparable enterprise frameworks.
Experience with EDI, B2B integration, supply-chain integration, managed file transfer, or enterprise document-processing platforms.
Understanding of EDI concepts, mapping, translation, acknowledgements, partner onboarding, document validation, and exception handling.
Experience designing REST APIs, event-driven services, data contracts, and integration workflows.
Working knowledge of Azure or comparable cloud platforms, containers, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and production observability.
Strong understanding of distributed-system patterns including retries, idempotency, eventual consistency, failure handling, and data reconciliation.
Experience with relational or NoSQL databases, data modeling, schema evolution, and operational troubleshooting.
Ability to independently deliver well-scoped technical capabilities and contribute to platform modernization.
Strong collaboration skills across engineering, product, architecture, operations, and globally distributed teams.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
