Description

Crowds gather at urbanbelly for a taste of Chef Bill Kim’s original and playful take on dumplings, rice and noodle bowls with an emphasis on bold flavors and local ingredients. 

Line Cook Responsibilities

• Perform many basic tasks of food preparation and organization in the kitchen.
• Effectively communicate with other members of the kitchen staff.
• Report to duty punctually, wearing the correct uniform.
• Run the line during service, ensuring that the highest standards are met and that communication between all team members is efficient and polite.
• Produce menu items by maintaining high standards to achieve the correct quality and portion size.
• Monitor the quality of orders so that only those which meet our high standards are served to our guests.
• Ensure that a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness is maintained by following cleaning routines and through ongoing diligence during the shift and within set-up and clean down procedures. 
• Ensure all guest allergies are noted and handled appropriately. 
• Adhere to time limits for meal preparation and service.
• Observe the company’s fire plan and health safety policy.
• Safely and effectively use and operate all necessary tools and equipment, including knives.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age 
• High school education or equivalent 
• 1-2 years of experience 
• Basic computer skills 
• Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds on a regular basis 
• Frequent long periods of standing and walking are expected during the workday 
• Ability to reach for objects and stoop or bend as needed to perform job duties 
• This position may involve visual and auditory tasks, including the ability to see and hear adequately to perform job functions
