ABOUT THE ROLE
Position Summary: The F&B Assistant Shop Manager is the right hand to the F&B Shop Manager and assists in managing the operational efficiencies of the shop and the overall customer experience. They will consistently assist in leading and managing a team of F&B Staff. The Assistant Shop Manager will be expected to maintain a high standard in the Shop by focusing on responsibilities assigned by their Shop Manager. The Assistant Shop Manager is responsible for partnering with the appropriate HQ & Store partners on the following: inventory, staffing, and overall business matters, in the absence of the Shop Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary Responsibilities:
Support the Shop Manager in overseeing daily shop operations and maintaining company standards
Act as MOD when the Shop Manager is off or not present, taking ownership of the shift and ensuring a smooth and efficient operation
Uphold and enforce all company policies, procedures, food safety protocols, and operational standards
Lead by example in providing exceptional customer service, hospitality, and a strong sense of urgency
Support Shift Leads and perform Shift Lead duties when needed or as directed by the Shop Manager
Ensure all required operational and food safety logs are completed accurately and on time, including daily, spoilage, prep, temperature, opening, and closing reports
Conduct and support weekly food safety walks and address any operational issues promptly
Ensure product and supply orders are submitted accurately and on time, maintaining appropriate par levels and communicating out-of-stocks or supply chain concerns to F&B management team
Communicate important updates regarding staffing, scheduling, promotions, influencer drinks, team performance, and operational issues to the Shop Manager
Maintain detailed team notes and provide the Shop Manager with a clear handoff following scheduled days off
Monitor the team's needs throughout the shift and provide support wherever needed to maintain service and operational efficiency
Take ownership of Shift Lead training and development, ensuring leaders are properly trained and prepared to manage their shifts
Assist the Shop Manager with team development, training, and execution of department initiatives
Support scheduling and staffing needs as directed by the Shop Manager.
Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Shop Manager or upper management.
Special Projects/Tasks:
Act as Interim Shop Manager in the absence of a Shop Manager and under the guidance of the F&B HQ team
Oversee and assist in the preparation and execution of any in-store and off-site events.
REQUIREMENTS
Availability:
Open & flexible availability, including but not limited to evenings, overnights, and weekends as well as Holidays.
Availability to consistently work weekends, special projects, drops/releases or as the business’ needs require.
Licenses/Certificates:
Valid and current Food Handlers License from the Department of Health or ServSafe Food Handlers Certificate is required
Experience:
1-2 years in a customer-facing managerial role
1+ years in the Food & Beverage industry
6+ months using industrial kitchen equipment
1+ years in a retail/apparel operations role is a plus
Skills/Abilities:
This role requires a strong entrepreneurial mindset.
Comprehensive computer skills and experience with Google Suites.
Efficient multitasker and delegator.
Ability to perform business math and accounting.
Ability to lift and move 30lbs.
Ability to perform standard tasks that are related to retail operations including but not limited to, bending, twisting, and climbing ladders/step stools.
Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.
